  • Annnnd it's all done. Bye old house! Best news is landlord confirmed he's happy to return full deposit! Just over a grand, I'm over the moon. Welcome back emergency fund, I will be furiously stalking the bank until it's back in. Early calculations means it looks like I can restock the pots and the emergency fund, and pay off the balance on the smallest credit card, and get back on track to fill up the LISA within the next two paydays. SO happy!

Stuck to only planned spends yesterday, only planned food shop tonight which I have a £25 budget for, happy freezer week!

This is amazing news!! Well done! :j You must feel a big sense of relief to have it all back and be able to put yourself in a great position going forward with savings and one less credit card. High five to you!
  • Morning! Happy Pay-yay!

Thanks all for your kind words :) I always think I'm rambling to myself here so it's lovely to get comments from you lot!

Weekend was a little spendier that I'd have liked, We had a cheeky night out on Saturday and I overspent by £20 more than I wanted to, but I did manage, over all to stay within my fun budget for the month. Freezer week is going well, I made pork burgers out of a forgotten packet of mince yesterday, and they were yum.

Bad news is I've got a speeding fine. Slapped wrist for me, TOTAL waste of £100, and no excuse, so there will be some naughty step sitting today.

Off to do the payday maths and a proper update will follow.

  • What a strange month it's been! Impulse loan clearing, emergency fund emptying, house moving chaos, but overall, I'm VERY happy with the results (for once!)

Lets start with the bad.
    • Risky Impulse empty the emergency fund to pay the loan
    • A few overspends on nights out
    • Nothing added to LISA
    • Emergency fund empty

    And the good: :D
    • HUGE debt reduction this month
    • I didn't increase my debt
    • All holiday spending money is now saved and ready
    • Almost below 20K debt

    Last months objectives:
    • Minimum payments (done!) - Ended up slightly overpaying
    • Surveys for some extra holiday spending money - Done! Did a fair bit last month, think I got about £90 extra with cashback added in
    • Fund the move without credit card - DONE! Huge one for me, very happy!
    • DO NOT USE THE CREDIT CARD - DID NOT TOUCH IT NOT EVEN ONCE!!!
    • No buying wool - Woops......

    Next Months Objectives :A
    • Use the deposit to restock car and emergency fund
    • Do not overspend on holiday
    • Pay off the BC on November payday
    • Stick to my budgets with planned spends
    • DO NOT GO OVER THE MONTHLY CRAFT BUDGET

Is a very bad habit to have haha! There's a new CAL starting in November that I want to do, pattern is only £1.97 but it's resisting a new yarn cake that will be the struggle! Although I did manage to resist Aldi's latest releases (if you haven't tried the Aldi wool I can't recommend it enough! Cheap as chips and decent quality)... but I know I shouldn't encourage...

  • Morning all - Nothing much to report here. NSD's all round so far this week (apart from the usual payday stuff!). Already had the £35 refund back in my bank for utilities for my old place, so that went straight into the emergency fund. Still no sign of the deposit....
    Paid - 7095/26218 - Total
  • And the riveting news for today... The make up remover I use is on offer at £3.49 so I bought two instead of one which will now last me for about five years...

After all of the payday excitement it's been a really dull and ploddy week, which has been brill for money saving with only planned and budgeted for spends. All the exciting stuff like make up remover and petrol. Looking forward to the weekend, we need to sort the last bits for our holibobs and have a party on Saturday which should be lots of fun. Boozy food shop tonight so have a budget of £60.

My (our!) new place is a lot warmer than my old flat, and I haven't had to put the heating on yet, which is good, but I have got the fluffy socks out now :)

    Happy Thursday all x
