Just check my new Clloyds
09 Oct 19 INCENTIVE DEP 125.00 :j:j:j:j
Time line:
October 5, 2019 Downgrade my Club lloyds and apply a new Clloyds Straightforward using my Lloyds Online banking.
Get incentive on October 09, 2019.
I am happy that I get money while I am helping someone in Lloyds to meet their target.
Switching is on the way, already get notification from Lloyds and Tesco bank0 -
I have no previous involvement with Lloyds. Though I set up a log in ID and a password at account opening, I can't get into my account online. Does it necessitate the activation code I've been told is on the way?
Yes you need the activation code (send by post) to access your account. Mine came today (Wed) and I applied/opened my account late Sunday, so came in the post within 3 working days of account opening, which was pretty quick.
It seemed once I had activated the account the £125 incentive was paid later today, so again all good.0 -
Been away for a while and slowly catching up by skim reading:o.
Has anyone had an application for a new Club Lloyds, made immediately after 'upgrading' existing account to Classic, declined?
Anyone done it, opened new CL, completed the switch and not received the incentive?
Any downside? Apart from short term loss of Lifestyle benefit?
Thanks
I’ve done all this exactly. My switch completes on 15th and incentive just paid. New CL account appears in online banking.
The next step is to downgrade the new CL back to classic and then re-upgrade the first account back to CL. I use Lloyd’s as a hub as it works the best for me in terms of interest in current accounts for variable amounts as I can have reasonable balance swings.0 -

I’m looking to switch the wife’s and my individual ‘flexdirect’ accounts to this Lloyds account, how far in advance can I set the switch ‘start’ date so that I get the maximum and last of the Nationwide interest due the end of this month.
Ideally for me a start date around 23rd would be perfect.ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
NOV 2021 O/S AMOUNT £1,694.41 OUR DEBT REDUCED BY £104,759.59 by std regular, over-payments & off-setting.
BofE +0.19% Tracker Repayment Offset Mortgage Discounted Sept 07-10 then increased to BofE +0.62% until 20270 -
Ah ok, thanks for explanation, so the DDs are not needed and just for interest.
One last question, can you get the switching bonus if you had any switching bonus from Lloyds before? I did have a Club Lloyds about 1 year or so ago, which I then downgraded to a classic. - Could I now upgrade the same classic back to a Lloyds and then switch in an account from elsewhere and still get the Cashback?
Nope. Any new or upgraded account must have been opened on or after 1st October 2019:o to qualify for this offer of £125. It is in the Lloyds offer info.
Otherwise people could just downgrade a club ac then apply to switch to the same account as a club account again, resulting in no new account opened since 1st Oct for Lloyds statistics!
So just open a new Club Lloyds or alternatively a Classic and then upgrade it which is what I did before applying for the switch in. Probably simpler to use lloyds link to open a new Club Lloyds and input switch details at he same time.0 -

But since if they pull the offer early you'd lose out in a big way I'd forget about the £9.38 interest (assuming £5K) you'll lose by switching 2 weeks earlier and open now, selecting the furthest date available.0 -

If a couple hold a joint Club Lloyd's and the system isn't allowing them to open a sole each due to some system error, do you think that they could each open a sole classic account and then upgrade this to a Club Lloyd's or do you think the system will prevent the upgrade?
I'm just wandering as my parents are going to open a sole each and I was going to do it with them on the phone next week (both have difficulty hearing on the phone).
How quickly did you upgrade your Classic and have you received your incentive?0 -

Fairly sure the Lloyds we page or the page where you can change the account designation says clearly that once ONE club account has been opened any second club account has to be discussed/opened IN BRANCH.
Changed existing club to classic, instant, loggedout, then logged backin straight away and changed classic I opened two days ago to Club, instantly done. Then went to offer page and filled in form for existing account option opened since 1st October and details of switch account. Done this morning no incentive yet not expected for few days and also hoping I did everything right!0 -
Can the direct debit be the same one but debiting twice in the same month or do they have to be separate active direct debits?0
