We have 2x sole CL accounts and 1x joint account.
I've just downgraded my sole account and tried to open a new CL account (and switch into it).

I don't get the option to select a new CL account when logged in.
When I log out and apply as a 'new' customer, I get a 'You already have this type of account' as it recognises my details...

Am I stuck with a downgraded Classic account now, or do I need to wait or contact them? (would rather do it all online)
I'd give it at least overnight to possibly clear legacy data. If still no Club application option you'll prob need to phone in.

what browsers are people using when applying ?

i've just had to cancel one application via the telephone it opened the account but couldn't go further on the switch page its a known issue that the IT team are working on which probably means it won't be fixed.

My failed application was on safari with a chrome application before that which wouldn't even let me get beyond the first page.

i'll be keeping the account open so i'll transfer the 1500 within days of being able to log in i believe its every calendar month and not a month from opening etc but i'd want other people to confirm this was correct.

edit i tried again via chrome and it worked thanks again for the info notrichardatall

. You need 2 DDs to earn any interest from the account - but the interest rates are now no longer the best so you might not want to bother with DDs.

Do you not think having 2% on £4999.00 not worth the bother? I was going to try and sort out two DDs, but do you not think it is worth it? I already have TSB, Nationwide have rejected me and so I thought it was a good rate for me:( Or, have I missed something?
    TIA

You get 1% on £1- 4k then 2% on the sum between £4k &5k, nowt on above...

    = c.1.2% on £5k

That's where I have gone wrong. I thought it was 2% on the total amount up to £5K. Thank you

My failed application was on safari with a chrome application before that which wouldn't even let me get beyond the first page.

I also had a problem with Chrome browser and no way to proceed past the page that asks for the switch account details. Went on the online chat and was told to wait 24-48 hours for confirmation of account opening and if none came through ring the applications team.
Of course no confirmation came, so rung and was told that those applications that get stuck are cancelled and to try again. They have apparently fixed the problem...
.....they haven't because the same thing happened again. What I found (someone's tip from another forum) was pressing the 'tab' key produced a half-hidden 'continue' button highlighted in blue. Pressed it and it all went through. Hope this helps someone else.

Card came today, PIN presumably on its way also. Can't really fault Lloyds so far. Far, far better than the horror show Barclays was.
