Hiya, sorry if I'm repeating info that you may already know but if your hubby has to have internet and mobile for his work it may be worth asking the tax office if there is tax relief for this.

Well done for sticking with it, fast food restaurants are never the best for my sins I use to be a mgr for a burger company, the only time health and safety was done correctly when the bosses were in!

You have achieved so much in a short time. and to come through xmas without adding to the debts is a miracle in itself.

Good luck with it all, look 4ward to more posts - xx

  • Hi Kim,

Your job sounds crap hun, but well done to you for sticking with it.

I work in retail at an airport and I know we have vacancies at Stansted. The starting pay is about £7 per hour, you aren't on your feet all day and depending on that airports need there is normally a variety of shifts available.

If you're interested drop me a PM and I'll give you the number of our recruitment line.

Hi and well done for taking on such a rotten sounding job. However look on the bright side. You now can put cash handling, customer service, food hygiene knowlegde and health and safety knowledge on your CV. Plus multitasking skills.
Good luck with the job hunting.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Thanks guys for all your kind words. Glittermonkey I may take you up on that offer in the near future, thanks hun.

Yesterday, I went into the nearest town and went to see a friend who is a lending manager for a main high street bank. He is putting my CV forward to their recruitment dept as a favour to see if he can get me in his branch as a cashier/customer service advisor. He really hyped me up on the phone to them and asked if they had vacancies and was told they are always looking for good staff and has been great. He thinks I will be a total assett to the branch and can certianly have career advancement. They offer great perks and no smelly fast food. So fingers crossed, have to wait and see. He was sending it over via courier to be looked at urgently. Wow - what a great start to a new year if I got this job.

Made him laugh though - he said the jobs always include a certain amount of selling products. That's fine I said I do that now. Do you want to go large? Would you like to tower that burger? Well there you go!

I have always worked in travel and accountancy backgrounds so have large amounts of customer service and reconcilliation experience. Let's hope the bank can see past KFC and offer me a future! Watch this space.

Wishing you all a very happy new year and lots of prosperity for the coming year.

    All the best.

    Kim

Thanks for ryour support. It keeps me going, and I have met some nice people through work, so something positive has come out of it. I have worked some long and awful hours for the family over christmas and new year. Had to work New years eve 11-8.30. Then New Years day 11-5. So did not see much of the family, but did not stop me from going out to a party at friends with the family New years eve (which cost us nothing), and getting home at 4am. Luckily all the customers next day felt as bad as me!!!!he he he........

Not heard about the job yet, banks not as eager as KFC to go back to work I suppose.

Hubby plodding away at the job front too - so keep you all informed.

At least my money has proved its worth now after christmas as next payday for hubby is not till end of Jan. My money is paying for food and petrol and will next week have to cover the school bus fares (£42), college fees for my daughter (£30). Car tax just run out, so needless to say this week and next nothing will be left over, but this was why I took this job in the first place for situations like this.

Not looking foward to Friday working 11-11.

Once again happy new years everyone and all the best for 2008. Speak soon.
