With regards to the car, my husband is the main driver and myself and daughter are named drivers. I did mention this is the only car we share. She only earns about £40 a week and as said before she is contributing to paying her fares now for college. With the remainder she buys her lunches. She is better of with the train as its £5.50 spent each day to get to college compared to the £5 petrol and the £4 parking.
We have looked into changing phone/internet tv provider, however we are not in a cable area, so Virgin/sky/Ntl etc is not an option.
I am aware of the severity of the situation, we went to see a solicitor earlier in the year to write to some of our creditors explaining that if we could not come to a reasonable compromise on payments then it may come down to bankruptcy. They have not listened and are demanding payments we cannot meet or will force a sale. The house was up for sale from March to October. It was realistically priced but had no interest as the market is dead. We have neighbours on either side of us with their houses up for sale now for a year and still not sold.
There is insufficient equity in the house to repay all the mortgage/charges and debts and be able to move on with the minimum of deposit for the smallest house.
Thanks for all your comments, I appreciate your advice. Will let you know how the interview goes tomorrow at 4pm. She asked if I wanted full or part time and I said full time which means nights and evenings. So update you after the interview. Maybe my new perfume will be fried chicken! Lets hope.0 -

Good luck with the job, and keep us updated, I know how you are feeling, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, it may be dim at the moment, but what goes around comes around!
Also, are you paying the car insurance for your 18 yr old daughter?, does she have a part time job? I know its alot to ask for help, especially from your family, but they are near enough an adult, and needs must....

Good luck with the job interview - you never know, you might enjoy it! That's probably a bit optimistic, but absolutely 10/10 for giving it a go, at least nobody can say that you're not trying.
Have you been through all the Quidco threads etc? With 4 adults in the house, you could probably make enough out of that alone to clear the council tax arrears, and at least then that would be one less thing to worry about. There's loads of info on the boards here about earning extra income, but give us a shout if you can't find what you're looking for.
I'm away for a few days tomorrow, but will keep my fingers crossed for you and look forward to any updates you've got later in the week.

People on here are working their @rses off to pay their debts off yet you want others to do it for you?

So glad you said that SS, I didn't have the nerve (though I did think it)
I have removed the link in my post, maybe you and pania could do the same, so they don't get any free advertising!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi guys. Well thanks for all the support. I went for the interview and I really did not like what it offered. £5 per hour, 10 hour shifts. Night and evening shifts as well as day. But hey they offered and I accepted.
I am just taking the attitude that it will help out with christmas and the council tax etc. Husband had good news today, he has an interview for a contract next week. His will be much more complicated and long winded and require several interviews.
I am feeling much more positive today though and thats mainly to all the support I have received from you guys. I thank you all and will think of you when I am serving my fried chicken lol.
I am starting on Wednesday and will give you all an update.
SF - if you can would you still send me that email please.
Thanks guys!!!!!0 -
well done K1mmie - total kudos to you - just want to point out though that I hope you are rounding the wage down to £5 because anything under £5.52 would be illegal.

So I am going in totally open minded. Will let you know tomorrow how it goes (if im not too tired). Just glad to be able to contribute again.
Thanks again guys. chat tomorrow.0 -
Well done honey - will get the email off to you tomorrow, could please pm me to check that I am sending you the right one.
I know it is a rubbish job but if it gets you out of this hole it will be well worth it and you will never ever want to each fried chicken again!!!! Make sure you keep an eye on your tax and claim back any overpayment as you have not earned your minimum
Well done again
