I think pieces you rescue and put your own stamp on stay precious for much longer. Good luck with the project.

Aww, I'm so excited that you guys like the idea. So many people think that older furniture should be kept the same but I feel like some pieces just don't work for most people in modern rooms.
I have no excuse for not posting, I've been sleeping.
However in the brief moments where I'm not sleeping and not working, I found something called the SCP foundation, which is a community horror fiction writing project. It's fantastic, the imagination involved is brilliant. It's been going for over 10 years and it's like a top secret organisation which collects and protects the world from anomalies through probably not very nice means. Each of the anomalies are described using a scientific style report. So I've been laying in bed, reading these little reports and admiring the imagination of people.
What I haven't done is anything useful.
Because I love sleep. You guys. It's literally the best.3 -
I don't know if I've mentioned this but I'm a bridesmaid.
Thus far I have spent months looking for the bride's shoes and now I am looking for mine. They need to be gold but apparently there's more than one gold! Why are there more than one gold!? My bride is being very good but it's so frustrating to me that googling gold shoes does not provide me with the shoes I need immediately!
We have also purchased matching fat pants. Not intentionally but now we will match on her wedding day3 -
Brilliant news!
My 0% credit card is now paid off! PAAAIIIIIIIIDDDDD OFFFF! All of my white goods belong to me!
My investments have grown a little but it's in the right direction and it's more than the amount I put into them so all is positive! I was wondering how long I have had a pension (I opted to get an S&S ISA when I did not have any workplace pensions) and it is just over 4 years. I have a net worth tracking spreadsheet so I can see the first contributions to my pension (including employer contribution) was about £30 a month. Wow. My total pension now is around £7k which is fairly pathetic for someone who talks incessantly about money and investment!
Paid my car insurance for the year which was £260ish, but now I have a small question. What happens if you need to replace the car? This is my first car so err I don't know? My car is unhappy, last week I might have been stranded on the side of the road as the car decided it no longer wanted to have gears, any gears. I was just chilling out listening to the radio until it stopped having a tantrum. This does mean that I need to acquire a new car, I am thinking that I should try to get a new 0% credit card to spread out the pain.
I've managed to get some shoes for my bridesmaid duties, which didn't fit. Whoops! I have ordered new ones and will be dropping off the other ones at the post office tomorrow. I will be trying on the dress next weekend and helping with the crafting of some of the centre pieces. I shall be in the garden so I'm bringing a blanket and maybe a heater.
My mortgage page shows a higher property value than what I paid so the equity I have is calculated as 28% rather than the 23% I calculate. I know which one I prefer.5 -
Well done on clearing the credit card 😀😀😀
I was halfway through supplying an answer on the car insurance front, then realised I might be wrong so have stopped typing! Essentially, you just need to let your insurer know about the change, but then I remembered that if you've still got the old car you need to keep that insured too these days. I've never done that bit (the only time I've still had the old one for a few weeks until it was sold I, er, didn't declare it 😳) so I'll let someone else clarify that 🤣! Much more straightforward if the old car goes off to get scrapped!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

You still have to sort the road tax too, unless you can SORN it. But that means you still have 13 months road tax to pay for the year since they stopped us being able to pass it on WITH the road tax.

Hi KP, on the car insurance, I recently moved house and just transferred over the insurance to my new address, but they ended up charging me a lot more for a lot less (less miles etc.). They made some excuse about it being a new house and not having enough information about the area - but its actually a really nice area. In hindsight I wished I had got a fresh quote and just swallowed the cancellation fee - which was about £50 - as it probably would have been cheaper. We were just so busy moving, that I didn't have time or energy to get some quotes. So, my advice would be to call your insurer and ask them about the situation and how much the cancellation fee is, but also to get some quotes on the new car.Mortgage 30 Apr'25. est. £211,500k £309,749, Ends Feb'36 Jun'39 (target Feb'31)
Equity: 40.7% (aiming for 40% LTV before remortgaging);

Thank you for the insurance advice guys! I never really thought about the possibility of paying more (stupid I know!). I will call when I have an idea of the car.
Been looking at cars vaguely, I remember hating it the first time and it turns out I still hate looking at cars! I live in quite an expensive area and it appears that I should save quite a bit if I go a couple of hours away. Hoping just to trade my car in, it's not worth much (if anything) as it seems the easiest thing to do?
Spoke to my bride friend yesterday, it's going to cost £400 for the room for her wedding. Actually insane. Not sure where I'll find the money with the car and everything but.... sheesh, do not know how a room can be that much and it's mandatory! However the dress fits so hopefully won't lose any more weight between now and the wedding so I'll avoid any tailoring fee.2 -
Sounds like a good reason to eat ice cream 😋

You're not kidding! Been eating ice cream pretty much everyday plus biscuits but still losing weight. However it has been delicious.
Watching bridezillas and the groom lost his job the week of the wedding! What an absolute nightmare!2
