This is: you suggest I pursue them for my costs involved in dealing with their 3 separate Letters of Claim?

Yes, I am suggesting that you explore that option.

Definitely consider it if you're up for it. OPS are absolutely on the ropes after a mauling at the hands of @Coupon-mad at Lewes County Court.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I am interested in trying this, just for the principle and also perhaps to make them think twice next time
However,  I have searched the forum and found nothing specific on how to do it .   I note the link you attached ref Action before Claim, but I assume that before sending something along those lines I would at the least have needed to write to OPS directly asking them to reimburse my costs, and giving them the opportunity to respond (in the negative, presumably!)?

You already have the information you want ....... just adapt what they sent you.

1: A letter claiming the amount to be paid in 14 days. Failure will result in Court claim.
2: After 14 days send a LETTER BEFORE ACTION giving them 30 days to respond. Include your evidence

They have wasted your time .. YES, if nothing else waste theirs

Or they would ignore you completely

It's about creating a paper trail , with proof of postage (free certificate of posting from the post office counter)

An LBC could do this but I would send them an invoice first , same as the PCN invoices sent to you

Then it's an LBC by post

Then it's an MCOL claim , online , the mcol website has full advice on raising a small claim

DPD purports to be the guru at putting those who cross his path through the court wringer. I'm sure he'll be along soon** to give you the benefit of his expertise and guide you through the actions required.

** even as soon as COVID-19 being wiped from the planet!  But you do have 6 years to bring a claim against them, and often revenge is a dish best served cold!
