  • Just signed up online, used code 2001 ok. Terms in my copy of Daily Mirror said it ends 30 Nov., so I assumed midnight tonight.

    DW :D
    Blessed are the vegetarians.
  • Despite some folk saying that there is no £1 charge for Sky customers, I have just checked my online bank statement and have found that there is a DD payment of £1 due to come off tomorrow to Setanta Sports. And I am a Sky Customer.

Still, I suppose it cheap enough to get 2 months Setanta for £1!
  • Setenta will rip you off, try cancelling
  • Before I sign up, can someone please explain to me what I need to do in terms of cancelling the subscription, ie when and how.

Thinking of signing up but need clarification re this first.

    Cheers
If I were you I would certainly forget about signing up. Subscribing is easy. I did it in about 5 minutes. Then received no viewing even after 4 hours and missed the fight we wanted. 3 days later - nothing . Have been trying to cancel subscription and it is virtually impossible. Lines always busy and you get cut off. The most unethical company I have dealt with. Most obvious that they make it childsplay to get into and impossible to get out of.

I had the same problem. Shouldnt the public be protected against these companies that make it childsplay to get into and murder to get out of???? Surely there should be some clause.

Just write recorded delivery to them telling them you have tried to cancel by phone but couldn't so therefore you are giving written notice that you wish to cancel.

If they keep charging you, take them to small claims - as long as someone at setanta signed for the letter then you have proof that you did everything you possibly could to cancel!

I've just phoned and been told to call back on Monday 24th as that is when I have had it for a month as the system will not do anything until then.

I've just thought how crafty they are with this offer. Presuming you ordered it on the 25th November, I'm guessing you won't get through on xmas day and therefore unable to give a full months notice of cancellation and will be charged as you will go 'over' the 30 day notice (IYSWIM)

This could be fun .... not!!!

Thats unexeptable meerustar you have given them notice just because its christmas they are fobbing you off. Did you pay via direct debit if so go to the bank and get it cancelled as soon as possible put yourself in control of the situation not them. They can deal with a cancellation request on working days the argument that the relevant department is not in is in a company of that size laughable stick to your guns and cancel.

    good luck
