Interesting article in the independent
Claims the refund target of 60 days cannot be made and suspects no ATOL refund have been made yet

The idea being for them to meet that target of December, refunds should have started to be issued already. Looks like little to none have so far0 -
Just logged into my online banking to discover my refund has been paid today :j, shows up as a credit by Rightpath insurance, made my ATOL claim on the 7th October. Thought it was odd I've had no communication but found an email in my junk folder from Tuesday to say it had been processed. Had only paid a deposit to TC so wasn't as large amount as some so maybe was fairly easy to deal with.0

I applied on the 7th but still not heard anything0

The CAA has confirmed they still intend to meet the 60 days deadline for refunds, but it is 60 days from the day you submitted the claim. There are two claims handlers dealing with some 350,000 claims. plus quite a few fraudulent ones apparently, and the money will be refunded automatically except where the information you provided does not agree with TC's own records0

At 19:01 last night (Friday 15th) I received an email from ProtectClaims asking for statement evidence of all payments to Thomas Cook (all of which I can't provide as most was paid on vouchers) and asking for receipt confirming payment of the Atol protection, plus a copy of the booking confirmation.
My claim was submitted on 7th October.
I still do not know of anyone in person who paid by means other than Direct Debit and has received their refund from CAA.
Edit: Just received a read receipt for the email providing all the above requested information - 6pm on a Saturday!0 -
Are you sure that email is legit? Thats the problem when different companies are dealing with our claims. There asking people to send all sorts of evidence off and no one really knows if its legit or not0
-
The two companies dealing with claims on behalf of the CAA are Rightpath and Cega, Protectclaims is a trading name of Rightpath so the correspondence appears to be legitimate0
-
Seems in this case it was legit, but having a random company who most wont have heard of because they dont know who is dealing with their case, asking for potential personal information does leave it open to fraud.0
