Thats the proper website. Did you use that one? My guess is not0 -
Just received the full refund of the cost of original Thomas Cook flights from HSBC on a chargeback. all well and good but iv also claimed on a section 75 for consequential loss as replacement flights were way more expensive. at least iv some money back so far0

I also used that site mentioned by Bobblebob above.
I used that site but as of yet havent had any email confirmation (has anyone??) other than receiving a claim number at end of entering details. I since been back onto that site and tried to input again and this time got so far until i was halted with a statement that they have already had a claim against this booking. I will however get onto my bank to advise i believe I've made a valid claim on the legit website but ask them to look out for any unusual activity.0 -
Hi there - I am IT literate but still think I may have been duped by a dodgy link somewhere, trawling through Thomas cook refund pages on caa...
Where will I find out if this is genuine. Stupidly filled out the form which asked for bank details, name and address/dob.... along with holiday booking info. Then received this email.I would start by contacting the bank, letting them know you think you have been scammed and then they can put a hold on any transactions or at least be aware if anyone tries anything. They may even go so far as issuing you with a new account number. It's a minor inconvenience compared to losing money. CALL THEM NOW.
No idea who CEGA are, but it is not the official ATOL site, so still file a claim on there too.
I wouldn’t panic too much just yet. CEGA are a legitimate company who specialise in claims management in the travel industry. The CAA has used CEGA before to assist with ATOL claims.
There are 360,000 Thomas Cook claims according to the CAA, they probably don’t have the resources to process all of them so it’s likely they will have bought in assistance.
Might be worth telephoning the CAA ATOL number though to ask them and put your mind at rest. 0300 303 2800. Also check that the email did actually come from CEGA

No i never got an email. That site is legit tho so no need to panic0 -
The non-genuine / intermediary / scam refund websites appear to be using details entered to then complete the genuine refund form on the genuine site.
A rep of the CAA said there's multiple fraud claims being made. My interpretation of the statement was that after realising people had entered details on the wrong website they've subsequently re-entered those details on the official CAA refund site only to receive the message that a claim has already been made against their booking number.
I assume that means the scam sites (and probably the legitimate sites who charge a fee) are re-entering data into the genuine refund form in an attempt to collect people's refunds.0 -
I've found 3 scam sites so far ,
This one claims to be a " guide to your Thomas Cook rights" but right at the top is a "contact us" form . But no mention of fees or as a regulated claims management company .
Information is a cut and paste copy from elsewhere
