Hi all ,
am moving house next month. Haven’t heard anything since December when they said they would take me to court. Who do I contact to give new address ? The original pcn company or the “debt collectors “?And shall I ring or email or both? Sure I read somewhere not to ring.Thanks0 -
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

PPC
Email
Instruct them to erase your old address (use that word) and this is your new address for service. to their DPO contact2 -
Google search the name of the PPC and the word 'privacy' and you will find their DPO email (no telling us they don't have one...we hate people posting that becaue they haven't Googled or read the result properly!). Then send an 'address rectification re PCN xxxxxxx' email and also add that you require the old address to be 'erased'.
Use those phrases, which come from the GDPR/DPA 2018.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just as the clampers were finally closed down ........Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
