    (((Jayward)))

I just saw you post and am so sorry for both your loss and the tremendous shock it must have been.

Hope the ebb and flow of chatter on here will help a bit.

DH is about to take me to Lidl to do some shopping as we are low on lots of stuff.

He is bereft because there is not proper butter left (he hates the spreadable stuff) so will need to get several packs and freeze them for later.

DD(22) has temp job and has volunteered for some 12 hour shifts for the extra money so need to have different foods for lunchboxes so it is not always the same thing. She has not got a start date for thejob she has been offered in Oxford yet but it would be nice if she was home for Christmas as it seems a bit misereable to spend that time of year on your own in a new place etc.

DH wants to set off now so see you later!

First can I say how sorry I am for your loss, Jayward. That must have been a terrible shock, but Aussie is right, she'll always be with you in your heart. Take care (((((hugs)))))

Aussie, he definitely didn't get an ogle:p There might not have been much under it, but I was enveloped in a full length, copious dressing gown:rotfl: And I realise I sound stupid answering the door, but I had peered through the glass panel and could see who it was. Still Dh was cross and said I should have waited until I'd woken him. Ahh, my knight protector;) Actually the neighbour obviously spoke to his daughter this morning, and she told him off for knocking so late. She's just brought me a lovely selection of flowers, to say thank you and sorry. I told her there was no need, but aren't people nice? She's trying to get him to go live with her for a bit while he gets sorted. He says if he does, that'll mean he's old. He's 83, bless him!!!

mioliere, I quite like the idea of deer, but you don't see too many of them in the London suburbs:D Then again I thought squirrels were lovely until I experienced the damage they can do. We have loads of foxes in my area, in fact on any evening once it's dark you can normally see two or three roaming the area. It's the foul-smelling mess they leave behind that I hate. Plus their mating sounds which are blood curdling:rotfl:

Shez, your trees sound lovely!! I'd love to do something like that:D

PenPen, sorry about your job, but I'm first in line for head coach:p I love football and could certainly do a better job than the last one, well it'd be hard to do worse wouldn't it:rotfl: Go on then, we could job-share, the payoff's big enough for the two of us:D

Nelski, glad to hear your brother and his colleagues are back safely.:T :T It's been good to see the welcome given to some of our returning servicemen. Enjoy your reunion:D

:bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: Goodness I don't think we've ever had so many birthdays on one day before!!!!! Best wishes to you all, but you might have to share cakes.

    CMxx

    Afternoon all,

Jayward...deepest condolences...not easy losing a sibling at any time but please remember that we are here if you need to talk at any time.

Up late this morning, plumber called to see about replacing electric shower which went on fire quite a while ago, taking out one of the four toilets as I want to knock the wall to enlarge the kitchen as that is my next project, and fixing the problem with the cistern in family bathroom...will give me price on Monday and do job next week, so that will be a fair bit of money spent on house.

DD4 just gone to Paris for weekend...hope that she doesn't miss flight as she is disastrous at timekeeping and Ryanair waits for nobody. DD3 in London to help DD2 and partner move...hope that all goes well.

Just OH and me here for dinner and he bought a kilo of mackerel this morning for 5 euro so we are having that later for dinner...DD1 back from holiday to-night so might keep some out for her and freeze the rest...she loves mackerel.

Hugs to all feeling down...PenPin, I am frozen to-day and I don't have your excuses!

We rarely see foxes although we are in a relatively unpopulated area...the odd grey squirrel who is outbreeding our native reds...see on the paper today that there is going to be an effort made to put greys on a contraceptive...as journalist said, would you trust a squirrel to take the pill?!

Doing some clearing in the kitchen, putting boxes and trays in cleared and washed cupboards to keep small stuff together, hope to get it done before I collect DD1 at 8.15.

Not going to make any more sweet goodies, as I seem to be the one who eats most of them and just can't afford to at the moment.

Congratulations to all who are celebrating, have a good weekend

    Marie
