Thanks Vanlady. DH has been sabotaging the budget this month and I'm just going to have to move money from other budgets (I use YNAB so at least I know where I can move money from - think it's probably going to be holiday spends, although it's only a couple of months until we go).0

Does anyone else do what I do?
Some weeks I find it easy to live off what is in the fridge, freezer, cupboards veg plot etc and spend very little.
At other times - it it seems to happen when I'm run off my feet and have no time - I can't be bothered with cooking and just need something quick and easy, it usually ends up being expensive, and not good for you.
I do meal plan every week but life just seems to get in the way at times.
You can usually tell when I'm like that because posting on any of the threads stops until things slow down.
Emergency pizzas in the freezer!
It stops me getting takeaway. It stops me going to the supermarket when I feel awful and buying lots of other stuff.
It means I'm buying pizzas when they're on offer as well :rotfl:
Then other sort of quick meals - omelettes with whatever is left type thing.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

- £46.77 last night in Lidl, including lots of cat food and some treats. Meal planned up to next Saturday.
£97.16 remaining for the last two weeks so I've spread it out quite nicely (£190 total budget).
We're on holibobs from 21st-28th Oct but I'll probably use my grocery allowance that week for meals, drinks and snacks for picnics/meals at the 'eco pod'. So just under £49 per week for the shops I'll do on 19th and 26th. Completely doable!0 -
I am up to £76.13 out of the average £200 a month I allow. Just as well my monthly fresh spending is still low as my annual stores budget is already overspent for the year at 109% or £439.84/£400. I persevered with peaches and nectarines yesterday but I should stop buying these now. Thanks everyone, unfortunately I'll never really be better, but some days are worse than others. I havent been making dinner so we'd used up all of our lunch stuff. So I had to go yesterday and all I got was lunch stuff and dishwasher tablets and it cost me £42.92!!! I know I have lots of kids, but seriously? I swear things are getting dearer.DEC GC £463.67/£450

PJ the faggot recipe:
Those left freeze really well in the gravy. We just had 4 each and it was plenty with the mash and veg. So this mix made enough for 4 meals for 2 of us.
Denise
i've made these and they worked really well.
i've looked in the recipe list at the beginning of the thread and can't see the recipe listed there, could we possibly have it on the list please?0 -
Lidl shop this morning taking us to 99.51/300 so pretty much on track.
Just need to keep DH away from a supermarket and I think we'll be under budget!
Need to deal with the eating out as well next month...0
