Hi all
Paid stuff done for the week, one WM load washed and dried and dailies done, apart from supper and clearing up I think that’s my lot for today. It’s been a busy week and I’m done in. Will make a list with DH this evening and will tackle the house etc over the weekend.
Have a lovely evening all. X0 -
Morning all.
Just a quick post as it’s the annual family day out. I am the only one up and ready although we have to leave in 20 minutes. Oh and DH has man flu.
DW emptied, bag packed, cuppa bring slurped. Have a lovely day all, and more hugs and thoughts for Jazee.0 -
Morning all
Have a nice day out Fayolle, I’m up and slurping a cuppa. First load is swishing in the WM, looks like it’s going to be a lovely day so am going to get on top of the washing!!
I have errands to run and am having my hair cut and the colour done so that will take most of the morning, I also need to do the food shop. The menu plan and list is done so I know what I’m getting. DH will be left to get on with the house and garden while I’m out, probably garden first as this weather is not forecast to hold for much longer.
Righto, dishes to put away and a few to wash, and leave to dry then I’m off for my shower and to get ready.
Have a lovely day all x0 -
Morning all.
On my own most of the day today. So far I've had breakfast and refilled the water dispenser in the fridge. Dishes next.
I think there must be something wrong with me. I'm devastated that dad has gone but still haven't cried. DD keeps telling me I don't have to be strong but it's not that. Feeling confused as I cried a lot when Sickdog and Olddog died.
Anyway I think I'll just potter about today.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Cannot wait for strictly! X0 -
Everything is different and everyone is different, Jazee. You might cry when you least expect it, when the 'things to do' stop and it all goes quiet - or you might not. All is natural.
My rebooted bodyclock has decided I start yawning at 10pm on the dot and my eyes snap open at quarter to six every day without fail, whether I have work or not, so I was awake (and wishing I really wasn't) this morning as well. Himself got up and went to work without saying a word, probably hoping I'd go back to sleep again.
I waited until 7.15am and then got up, put the coffee machine on and then did
3 loads of washing, some hanging up and some TD for things that wouldn't fit on the clothes horse.
Putting dried stuff away.
Cleared countertop and bleached.
Cleaned hob.
Cleaned sink and put dry washing up away.
Cleaned appliances.
Wiped kitchen table.
Emptied bins and put recycling out.
Vacuumed downstairs.
Cleaned front windows and glass stuff downstairs.
Dealt with a threatening letter from the tax office. They really need to have enough staff to handle calls if they're demanding you get in touch within 7 days - it's taken ten of getting an engaged tone and being disconnected to get through. Anyway, they sent the letter in error and I don't have to do anything as a result.
Cleaned toilets and did bath and sink upstairs.
Made bed. I'm assuming himself will be wanting to lie down after work and, as he's been feeling pretty rough with conjunctivitis since yesterday morning, I won't complain as much as I usually do. But I wasn't hugely sympathetic yesterday morning when he asked me what was wrong with his eye - I'm paid to deal with stuff like that during the week, don't expect much before 6am other than 'yeah, it looks like conjunctivitis. Go to the chemist and optician if it doesn't feel better in 24 hours'. I'll nuke the bedlinen after he's had a rest.
I could vacuum the stairs and upstairs, clean the bedroom windows, clear the coffee table of gibble, mop the hard floors, empty the fridge of stale leftovers and do the bowl of washing up I've left so far, but seeing as before he started looking like he'd been punched in the eye, himself had two days off on Tuesday and Wednesday where he did !!!!!! all indoors, I think they can wait until he's in and I know what he is going to do.
I finished everything I intended to get done by about 11am and I'm now lounging on the settee. He's going to walk into in a not-quite-but-not-that-far-off-perfect place.
And I've just realised I'm hungry. If he's back soon and wants a rest, I might take the opportunity to go to the supermarket alone - I'm really hungry at work and can feel a big drop in energy about 4 hours after I eat, so need to adjust what I take with me.
But isn't it a beautiful day?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
because it's a lovely day but the forecast is grim I'm hitting the garden. I I have strimmed the lawn edge and cut it. I have also emptied one compost bin onto the border and repositioned it because I'm sick of the conifers from over the fence growing roots into it. Even though it was on pavers!
I did peg out 2 x WM, iron a maidenful and empty DW before I went out.
I also cleaned out the hutch.
I'm ghaving lunch now (late) then I'm going to do some more gardening.
Jazee - no right or wrong - hope you don't feeel guilty. I'm sure they will come.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Errands run
Hair cut and greys covered!
Food shop done
Just put wash load number 3 on the line,
DH did the house, it’s not perfect, but it will do and I’m not complaining.!!!!!
Still to do
Mow lawns... DH doing that now
More washing!
Make bed with fresh linen
Empty bins
Empty and wash litter trays
Make large batch of bolognese for freezer and for Monday evening when we are both out
Have supper and clean kitchen, I think we will have salad tonight so that will be nice and easy.
Enjoy the rest of your day all x0 -
Jazee, my father passed away, end of 2018, some days I just sit still and burst into tears other days not. It will come and go, there seems to be no time on my grief, and I guess it is much the same for you.
