Welcome beebuzz.
Had a lovely long dog walk in the sunshine and then a long phone call. Dad appears to be making progress. Second wash load is in the machine.
Just had a quick snack for lunch, will do 15 minutes knitting then get cracking on with proper flying.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Welcome beebuzz
Morning of paid stuff done
Bathroom just done, bin emptied
Having a sandwich now and then will swap over washing and try to fit in a quick walk before starting paid stuff again.
Have a good afternoon all x0 -
Howdy all.
Husband was not on a shift yesterday so he did the kitchen which was lovely to come home to. He did the washing up, put the dishes away, hoovered and mopped the floor.
My turn today and I'm doing the bathroom blitz. I'm going to pick and choose a few bits from each of the levels.
Clean sink
Bleach / scrub loo
Clean bath
Remove gack from the plug holes and pop bleach down (noticed last night the bath is draining particularly slow)
Empty laundry and hang out
Put towels and bath mat on to wash
I want to get into some good habits when we move house as we really struggle to keep on top of the housework mainly due to time and motivation. But a clean slate is a perfect time to introduce better habits.

No proper flying done as dad has taken a turn for the worse. I'm having yet another cuppa, then will probably have a second attempt at the dishes and another walk.
Have sent my apologies for a meeting tonight as I won't be able to concentrate or talk. Thank goodness for this thread.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Big (((hugs))) for you Jazee and lots of posivibes for your dad.
Welcome beebuzz
DH went to the GP this morning and has been told that his already diagnosed heart failure is playing up, so he is back on a double dose of water tablets and should come off the hospital gym programme for the time being
I managed to take 3 bags to the CS and spend money at the greengrocer's while DH was waiting to see the Dr (who was running 39 minutes late) - and still got back in time for his consultation - but we have also wasted about an hour driving to the local hospital for him to have a blood test, where we found a 2-hour queue  DH had offered to take me out for coffee this afternoon because it's a lovely day, but I have a list of jobs that I daren't put off because I know that this weekend, next week and the week after that will all be busy, so I suggested that we use up some of the waiting time by eating jacket potatoes at the very nice hospital cafe. As we were eating, DH checked the blood test form and spotted the word "Fasting" so he will have to go back again tomorrow
I also went to Mr Al and bought most of the rest of the food we need for the next week - the rest can be got at our local co-op. So that is one job off the list. All the shopping has been put away.
The window cleaner is here, so I can tell which windows I've cleaned inside recently, and which I haven't
Coffee next, and what's left of Heir Hunters, then I will take down curtains, fill holes in the downstairs bedroom walls and take Rosie for her walk, before getting out the paintbrush and roller for an hour or so.0 -
(((Hugs))) Jazee. Posivibes are heading your father's way; I'll be thinking of you both for the rest of the day.
Welcome Bee Buzz. I just do one small thing at the moment every time I walk into any room, even if it's only straighten something to make it look a bit neater. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the house at the moment, if I'm honest. It happens to all of us from time to time.
Sorry to hear about your flood, Bad Cat. How incredibly disruptive for you. I hope your insurance company is helpful and generous.
Hope your decorator has turned up again Wishing.
Sorry I haven't been contributing; Flying fell apart at the tail end of last week and after a weekend away I've got a huge amount to catch up on.
First of four loads twirling
Nasty mess in yard cleaned up and scrubbed
Bathroom given a quick going over which is enough for now
A bit of vacuuming done that should be done every day and never is
Washing up cleared and meal planning done for the rest of the week
It's a start.Better is good enough.0 -
Huge hugs for Jazee and Ionafan.
I was pegging washing our at 10pm last night, it's nice and dry now! Full day of paid stuff done, only just home, now need to cook dinner, make packed lunches and probably inhale a glass old red wine
DH sorting kiddies out for bed, the bathroom really needs a swish but that will have to wait.
How is it only Tuesday!?!
Gardener has been today so it looks fab, definitely money well spent as it made me beam when I saw it all neat and lovely when I got home. Have lovely evenings all xx0 -
Where did the day go? I have done my dailies but not touched the bathroom yet. It'll be how much can I get done while the bath runs. Fortunately the bath fills very, very slowly. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Evening all, work today, but a reasonably early finish so I got a couple of jobs done before I had to get Pickle.
Dry washing is away
Tea for tomorrow made - oven timer set
Dw filled and set going
Kitchen tidy
List for tomorrow written.
Not too bad - full work day tomorrow - I already know it will be crazy. Oh joy.
Hugs and spoons and sticks for the dogs
Keep going, you just need to put one door in front of the other.
Wish.
Ps - decorator made contact, but still not confirmed a start date - May have to look elsewhere.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Hugs for Ionafan and Jazee. Thinking of you both.
Lots of odd jobs done since my last post, it feels like I have been welded to either the vacuum cleaner or the kitchen sink. But I have cleaned and primped the ex RoD so that I might have to start calling it the spare bedroom. There is no furniture as yet though, unless you count a tool box, a workmate and 5 full black bin bags.
DD’s room has been stealth cleaned - skirtings, light fitting etc. Plus bedding changed, washed and dried.
Dinner made, looking remarkably like tomatoes and courgettes in yet another disguise, cake and quiche also made. DW now running and cuppa brewing.
There is an owl hooting outside my bedroom window!0
