Depending on how much you spend I’d review some other subscription services and try and get it delivered.
May be hard to hit minimum spend but more convenient and won’t interrupt you as just plan when you’re at home.

Great news reading this diary, hard work pays off!

Thanks all, will take a look at hello fresh.

Checked put amazon fresh and it’s not great to be honest. Everything is branded and choice is limited. The issue is everywhere else charges £7 and the next delivery slot is over a week away ha. Just compiled a massive load of bulk stuff but then spotted amazon Morrison’s...morrisons prices and the same free delivery, same day deal...trouble is you need to be invited. I’ve requested an invite but have no idea how long it takes to get one? Anyone done it before? Can’t bring myself to pay amazon fresh prices given Morrison’s is right there ha...

Thinking I’ll make do with the Tesco metro for now and just do small shops every few days. Not ideal but still a lot cheaper than amazon fresh (pretty sure it’s the same price as a proper Tesco, just less of a selection.

My life has become very dull

On the financial front, most bills sorted water and sewage is £41.42 a month. Council tax registered for and not sure exactly what it is yet but probably about £120. 30mb broadband cost £17.99. Just the gas and electric left to do, which I’ll sort tomorrow.

Definitely going to sell the car. Have it outside but reluctant to even use it to get to the supermarket in case I lose my parking space (had to park a 10 minute walk away the other day). Seems stupid I know ha. Will wait until the end of lockdown though as still have some bits to collect from home. Not a lot, just a load of coats and suits and a few random bits like tennis racquet etc. But too much to
    manage on the train ha.

Hating this cold weather. Finding it a bit demoralising as even going for a stroll isn’t fun ha. Have just restocked the wine rack so there is always that to fall back on haha.

Could you do a click and collect order at supermarket? More likely to get a spot and doesn't cost a fortune but saves you having to go in store yourself.

Glad to hear you’re settling in mate.

We have Sainsbury’s deliver. Don’t really see the point in the hello fresh/ amazon supermarket thing tbh, strikes me as a bit of a rip off? Could be wrong tbf as wife generally deals with the food.

You’re about the only one on here with a water bill nearly as high as mine mate lol. Do you not get an allocated space? Must be costing you a fortune parking in London and if you don’t think you’re going to use the car I’d get rid can always get another if you decide you need one.

It’s been beautiful up here yesterday freezing cold but blue skies. Fair few years ago I bought a Canada Goose coat don’t wear it that often but when the weather is cold it’s brilliant not money saving though ha.

I think there's been another rush on delivery slots due to new lockdown.
Might be worth looking for a future slot to book and just keep going until then
Dull can be good :) I'm craving a bit of peace, much as I love my family I do wish they could all clear off sometimes lol. I'm the only woman and they do like to gang up on me . Its either ganging up on me, or jockeying for position among themselves.
Glad its all going smoothly so far - I can picture you wandering about the place with a smile revelling in your space and freedom and noone to answer to. I probably envy it a bit.

I also use Sainsbury's. They do £1 saver slots where you pick a 4 hour slot on the day of your choice and they will then email you the morning of the delivery to then confirm the hour in which they will be coming.

They also offer £2-3 delivery slots that give you a 1 hour delivery time frame on the day of your choice. You do have to spend a minimum of £40 in order to qualify for a delivery though. That also applies to the saver slots.

They release the slots online 7 days in advance and sometimes you can get a slot for the following day - if you don't mind your delivery coming between 9-10pm!

Is the water over 12 months? I pay £50.01 but it's over 8 months.

Can you check the council tax so you're not guessing?

    Thanks all.

It’s not so much the going in the supermarket I’m worried about, just the having to lug the bags back to the flat, faff around finding parking afterwards (sometimes a 30 minute ordeal ha).

Parking is free but probably also why it’s hard to find spaces ha.

As for water bill, is that high? It’s unmetered but apparently based on 1 bed and 1 person...was 33% higher than my estimate but I forgot about sewage...is it worth looking into a meter?

Amazon Morrison’s would be good but the fresh isn’t great to be honest. It’s virtually all branded/fancy stuff like whole foods where you’re spending £30 on a steak  All the herbs are branded so like 5x supermarket own brand price for a dried herb/spice ha. Also didn’t even have everything or anywhere near everything I needed for a spaghetti Bolognese recipe I found.

Saver slots sound good. Will take a look at Sainsbury’s then!

I do sometimes roam with a smile but do feel slightly directionless at the moment. Partly the new lockdown, partly no internet and work being quiet, partly having a cold and feeling run down ha. Seem to have lost my get up and go, which is frustrating. That said, I’ve been keeping the flat clean and cooking at least, even if it is basic. Getting up late in the mornings though, which is the frustrating thing. Have been sleeping like a log though!
