Late night stroll along the river sounds good mate. Can imagine it’s really strange being in London shut down though - when it all started was eerie enough seeing London empty on TV.
We get a lot of issues with tenant lifestyle and condensation. Tbf there isn’t a problem if the flat is well ventilated though.1 -

As you can probably gather from the above message I don’t remember sending, I drank quite a lot of Saturday night ha. Had a zoom quiz and then went for a late night stroll and decided it was a good idea to take road beers with me and ended up wasted. Need to cut that out tbh but have been struggling with being on my own and no internet so not a lot to do. Despite being hungover I did at least force myself to tidy up/do washing etc. So that’s one change from the previously chaotic London lifestyle ha. Just need to establish more structure.Internet gets installed tomorrow so that is one relief!
Work has acted as a better distraction this week. Still not busy but getting my head back into the zone a bit. The latest lockdown means a lot of people off so will likely have to pick up the slack. Likewise the other person of my grade in the team has moved to another role (with zero notice) so will have to pick up the slack there too. There is debate over whether the department has the budget to replace him and on top of that it takes a good few months to get someone in. Not ideal. Busy times ahead. Just means lots of prioritising and pushing less urgent things back. Also found out I’ll likely stay in this specific role beyond May as the person I’m covering has delayed coming back. It’s a good opportunity to consolidate but does mean more time in a chaotic role ha. But can sense work is going to be the thing that helps me hold things together through lockdown.
Got a recipe book in the post from the family, which was a big pick me up as have been feeling a bit down. Cooked one of the recipes this evening and was delicious, enough left for another 3 meals as well. Will cook another recipe in a couple of days (and stock up some more on the spices etc.). Had takeaway both Friday and Saturday so been feeling guilty about that too ha. Felt like I was slipping into old habits. Think I need to set a limit on that front too, maybe one or two a month.
Now that it’s a bit warmer I’m going to do a stroll a day (without the beers haha), hoping it will help with structure and also the mental health side. Maybe avoid the booze until I’m in a bit of a healthier mindset.
Have realised I definitely need a cordless hoover ha. Any recommendations? Want something cordless with half decent suction and easy to empty. Something like the Dyson V7 but don’t want to spend dyson prices if I can avoid it ha...
Internet installers coming potentially as early as 7am tomorrow, so going to set an alarm and get up early. Again try and get some structure back.
The theme of the day is structure haha.August 2019: £28.8k

John Lewis do their own version of a cordless hoover. I think they are about £130 and have a 4* rating so about £120 cheaper than the Dyson cordless one. The reviews look pretty decent if you have hard flooring rather than carpet though.Lockdown has taught me that a routine is the best way to go. Getting up at roughly the same time every morning, doing between 45 minutes - 1 hour of exercise on a weekday and a good breakfast and evening meal helps.I also budget for 2 takeaways a month - one for when I get paid as a treat (before lockdown I’d go for food and drinks on the nearest available Friday after payday) and then one for mid month when it slows down a bit to give me something to look forward too. If you’re tempted to buy more than one or two takeaways a month sometimes sending money to your savings account helps resist the urge to buy as you can then physically see the money in your savings pot instead of it just being meal on your plate1

Haha lockdown road beers best thing I’ve heard all week lol just don’t decide a walk in Derbyshire is the thing to do... they arrest them for a coffee there lol. 🍻
Work sounds like it’s going to be chaotic- wfh for foreseeable too presumably?
Recipe book from family sounds like a thoughtful gift mate. 100 agree homemade better. Takeaway bit of a rip off imo and not good for you either. Gym girl’s suggestion sounds good tbh. Something I found that stopped me having the odd takeaway years ago was working out takes longer to wait for the takeaway than it does to cook something if the ingredients are in ready to go.1 -
Even once a week to start with for takeaways is better then every Fri and sat. Maybe see how you feel. I try and have 2 a month at most. But always have some Pizzas in freezer for easy dinner.
Currys have some cordless hoovers on offer atm so maybe take a look at reviews on there. I just brought a new one but mine has a cord so can't help much I'm afraid.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7300
