Thanks for the replies both.Haha, yeah, it’s a niche brand and quite pricey, though I pay less than UK retail, which makes it a bit more palatable.I used to use it as a special occasion fragrance, e.g. for dates but would probably wear it daily once I’m back in the office.
Since the chances are I’ll only be wearing it around the house for the foreseeable, I’m not getting the same value out of it. So I’ve decided I’ll accept the offer. If the guy pulls out I won’t be disappointed but need to let head rule...
Still no start date on the new job but have emailed my new boss to speed things along...August 2019: £28.8k

Me too Naomim 😬
I have never walked past someone and thought ‘ooh you smell expensive’, so £50 is my absolute limit, but preferably less 😂.... on the other hand I am sure Ryan would be baffled at the amount I have spent on sewing supplies..£13 on a reel of quality black cotton this week 😪Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

All fair points.
It’s called Creed Aventus. Has such a following that there are entire Facebook groups dedicated to it, ha. The batch variations have helped build that hype as people end up collecting/trying multiple batches and actively seeking out particular batches. Also the EU bans more and more natural ingredients every year, which makes older batches even more sought after.
RRP is high but you can buy decants (where people bulk buy a big bottle and split it) quite affordably (£70/50ml). But it’s also much cheaper in France (£100 less for 100ml) and I picked up a bottle there. Generally the older the batch, the more the premium in the used market. Some bottles can cost £500 plus...I’ve picked up a few bargains where I’ve been able to spin a quick profit.
It is the perfect fragrance for a man imo. Smells amazing, fresh but manly at the same time. Has good performance and is versatile, you can wear it for any occasion if you can stomach the expense.I’ve literally had people chase me down the street to ask what I’m wearing before. Though it’s so popular now that it’s losing its mystique a bit. It’s the second highest selling fragrance of the moment, which is some feat for a niche fragrance, which retails in the hundreds of pounds.

I keep doing stuff to my A6; it's 13 year old.
I'm not even that keen on the drive but it looks great; had gloss black alloys done last autumn when I hit the last casino win.
I want to buy coilovers and have it dechromed.
What i'm saying is I could sell it for £2k & buy a reliable car for £1k & clear my CC but I wouldn't.
I sold my beer memorabilia stuff as i'd no attachment to it & put it against my CC.
If you like the aftershave & it's hard to get, keep it: count it as a reward to yourself for all the repayments you've made.
P.s. I think my sales price for party bags is too cheap; I can bump it another 50p, increase my margin to close to 90% & they're still great value ; £1.49 for a kids party favour bag & order 10+ the birthday kids pack is free... there's a wedding market there too... speeches = bored kids😂

A brief check in after the weekends depravities.
Was good to blow off some steam, with limited financial damage, since I couldn’t really go nuts with the card while in a field haha.
£46 gone off of the Virgin this week. £50 NatWest and another £500 Barclays before the whole cycle starts again on pay day.
Spoke with my new boss and agreed a start date in early September so from then on I should have extra cash to tackle things more quickly.
Thanks,

Nice 1.. remember your cough is cigar related; check your temperature to be on the safe side😂
We're off to ireland's north west lake district, so to speak, tomorrow for a week; we prob will spend ££ & €€😂. Still, i'll convince the mrs to go baked beans from sept so we can nail down some serious savings b4 year end!
Keep on trucking, Ryan!Admin for Tilly Tidy to £1825 DFW challenge: 2021

The lakes of Ireland sound amazing, enjoy
The business end of the month is arriving far sooner than it usually does, shows what having a distraction can do...work is also very busy as I've got lots to get done before I leave, in terms of handover but also completing projects...
My credit card is close to it's max (bill for the month is £900) but a huge chunk of that is a fragrance I bought and have since sold for a profit, plus I bought camping equipment and food/beer etc. My current account is bulging at the moment though (compared to usual as I run it pretty close to zero to maximise the debt clearance), as a result of all the stuff I've sold. Have about £200 in one account (My emergency fund out of which only the £13 fee for various insurances and breakdown cover comes out of) plus about £1000 in my current account. So I should be able to make a bigger dent this month, though may allocate more to my emergency fund in the short-term. I'll decide when the time comes....
Thanks,
Ryan
