Ever heard of 8 & bob aftershave?; it's nice.
Great story behind it too!Admin for Tilly Tidy to £1825 DFW challenge: 2021

My mrs was last to be told by work about her new job; she was convinced she hadn't got it..
It's like I said, I think it's the 'DFW bounce' I.e. good things happening when ppl commit to DFW journey
It's like Arnold Palmer replied to someone asking if he was just a lucky golfer & his reply was "it's amazing, the harder I work, the luckier I get".
Many successful business ppl say the same; I think it's an added incentive for those considering committing to DFW.
You'll have the remainder cleared in no time now!I think that’s a very good point and very insightful. I like it a lot as a point. The structure and focus of the debt free journey has definitely helped a lot mentally.
Have got a tent sorted. Just need to source a cheap sleeping bag and air bed (the Tesco website is down).
One thing I am a bit annoyed about is that I’ve ended up being roped into buying some expensive cigars with my friends. We got 6 between three of us but at £60 it is a disgusting waste of money. Glad I’m writing it down as it’s bugging me. It’s more than covered by stuff I’ve sold and I guess it’s a rare treat but still. I’m not even really into cigars but the others were doing it so didn’t want to feel left out. I guess this weekend also now feels like a bit of a celebration. Thinking I’ll save one of them for a future trip to get a bit more out of it.
Fortunately I found an old letter while clearing out paperwork and I’m still owed a council tax refund (only about £18.50) from a couple of years ago. Every little helps.Still got the expensive cologne I’ve bought to sell. Was toying with selling my newer bottle instead but now thinking after the cigars it’s just not justifiable. The profit could pay for most of the weekend...
Watch box has 7 watchers with a day and a bit to go, so fingers crossed.
Hadn’t heard of eight and bob but love the story behind it!August 2019: £28.8k

Good news on the selling front. Sold my watch box for £75ish on eBay, which leaves me with about £60 after fees and postage etc. Not too bad for something I’d forgotten about.
Also sold the fragrance I bought recently.Net result is that most of the weekend is paid for.
Bought a sleeping bag and air bed (both half price) for £20 in Tesco extra today. Have arranged to borrow a tent and got the beers sorted (20 for £10). Just need a disposable bbq and food that I’ll go to Lidl for.
Another £30 off the debt as my Tesco DD came out the other day. Will pay that in full on payday (around £560) and then £940ish on the barclaycard to bring the total cleared to my £2k target.
No news on the start date for the job. Still awaiting contact to agree the start date and then I’d assume the contract will follow as need the start date before I can sign. I have a 2 month notice period so it’s going to be a while before I get any of the pay rise but will make a big difference for sure...

I still have a cuban I have an occasional toke on; what I realised early days of lockdown was how much i'd lost the taste for tabacco (was a social smoker years ago).
I wouldn't envy peer pressure of buying expensive cigars regardless of event 😱
I think anyone able to save on wedding expenses & hens & stags is a good thing. I'd really struggle to have a mate who expected me to go 4 days to Vegas; like !!!!!! is that all about?! When you pay for the groom you wouldn't have change out of 2 or 3 grand!
If Covid knocks that on the head across the board that's a good thing; we had a lockin in a Fermanagh pub; my brothers & mates still reminisce about what a good weekend it was😂Admin for Tilly Tidy to £1825 DFW challenge: 2021

WD on your selling! Omg, what was your watch box a Patek?! £75, man alive😵😂
I found my 2014 Panini Album: am going to add extras & try to push it close to £40
99p start stuff I discontinued.
Am looking at launching a kids budget party bag business; 59p landed (i'd source & build content myself), 6 food & toy items per bag, selling for 99p.
With those margins 50 bags per week would nett me £1000 per year, 100 a week £2000 & so on. I know there's a market for it, it's building customer base is the hard part.
People laying on parties couldn't put together a favour bag for less themselves; will be veg, vegan & halal friendly as well💪😉Admin for Tilly Tidy to £1825 DFW challenge: 2021

much given it was stolen ha). It was an Omega.
Haha, a cool idea to earn a few pennies. I sense you’re a bit of an entrepreneur ha. Facebook groups could be one route to securing some business.A bit of an update on the job front. It feels a bit more real now as I’ve found out the role I’ve been allocated to and who my new boss will be. It’s actually someone I used to work with when I was at the department previously (I started out there as a grad several years ago). She has been on leave, so apparently should be in touch tomorrow. Then I can get my notice in and start planning for the extra cash. Will probably start paying a bit of rent, since it’ll be more affordable. Thinking £200/month and putting the extra into the LISA but shall see. Thanks,

Eeek.
Someone is desperate for another of my premium fragrances. And is willing to pay £70 more than I did for it. Trouble is it’s my favourite and while I could buy a newer batch for a lot less, it does smell different.
Do I sell?
Head says yes but heart says no
What say we, money savers?
I can but a new batch that doesn’t smell quite as good but it’s probably 90% the same for £130 less than I am being offered for this older batch...

Ooh, it depends how much you will enjoy it! If you leave it in a cupboard and just admire it every now and again then I would sell....but if you’ll use it and get £130 of enjoyment out of it then that’s different 😊Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I'd sell it, but then I don't spend more than £50 for a bottle of perfume, so I may be the wrong audienceDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
