Morning. Beautiful day here.
Dailies are done, work shift done, dogs walked on yet another new route. I'm midway through sorting my wardrobe but have just stopped for a quick cuppa.
Hope everyone is having a good day.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Busy, busy day. DD has just got in and made me a cuppa.
I have:
3 loads of washing done and dried outside despite a sudden shower
Cleaned bath and shower, s&s the basins and loos, vacuumed the floors in those rooms
Flicked the duster over the bedroom, landing, hall, LR and DR.
Found where the world’s supply of spiders have been living.
Vacuumed spiders and floors.
Mopped kitchen floor
Been to the allotment for a strict hour and dug a bucketful of weeds.
Made DH a chocolate cake as it is his birthday.
Put dinner in the sc.
Cooked some of the veg which is cluttering up the utility room. Still more to go plus the plums and some rhubarb to sort out.
Just realised that I forgot to have breakfast and lunch.0 -
I'm in (better late than never!)
DH is at home today, no work on, Brexit and it's uncertainty has really affected his business. I don't want to get political on here but I am worried.
DW was unloaded last night, DH can do domestic stuff today, I've written him a list! Have fab days all xx0 -

Huh, posted on Monday eve but it disappeared.
DW on.
Have been to gym both days this week.
Holiday suitcase etc all emptied and put away, all clothes washed except for a couple I have to hand wash.
Term doesn't officially start for me until Oct but I've been asked to do 2 assessments this week so that will ease me back, especially as they have devised a completely new format for which I need to set up a template and start using before I forget the training.
House is a bit of a mess really with remnants from holiday (maps, programmes etc which will probably hang around until I decide I don't actually need them), few bags and boxes from MILs flat. Eg cleaning bottles which won't fit under my sink but irritatingly are too full to decant into mine. Lots of plums, tomatoes, apples waiting to be frozen or eaten.
Better get on now, aqua aerobics then uni via the postbox.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
The pears are almost ripe so about half of them have been picked, so I'm hoping that by storing them in the fridge I can slow down the rest of the ripening process until next week when they'll be made into pear and ginger chutney. I've had to give a few cherry tomatoes away because they're so beautiful and it turns out three healthy little plants produce more than we can keep up with. I'm so pleased; I gave them to the person who's kept us supplied with rhubarb through the summer.
The glazier has been and replaced a pane of glass that broke inwards yesterday after the ministrations of the window cleaner. It was an original pane and probably dates back to 1860 when these listed houses were built despite the Plymouth blitz, but because of the window's position had to be replaced with a safety glass. The filmed type complies with the H&S legislation and, very happily, has tiny flaws in it which look exactly like the flaws in the original, pulled, glass as opposed to the modern floated glass. (I love it when tradesmen give you a masterclass in their specialist subject.) Looks fantastic.
The superking and double just needs the beds remade and they're then finished, and the shower room needs doing. Then my Flying conscience will be clear for the day.Better is good enough.0 -
Evening all, is it me or is the thread extremely quiet at the moment, there seems to be a shortage of people on here for some reason. I do hope we don't get shut down due to inactivity..
A gentle reminder, please don't forget to include something about flying in your post.. Chat is still encouraged but it does have to have flying in to justify the thread.
Why is it that well intended plans go completely awry? I had booked this week off 'work' to clean the house and get everything all packed and ship shape ready for our holiday next week. Well that worked out well didn't it...lol
I've not been feeling well for the past couple of days now and spent most of today asleep on the sofa. I need to be well as I have the 6 hour journey to Wales to do on Saturday. And as Dave can't drive as it's too soon after his metho jab I really need to be fit and well. It looks like it is going to be lots of stops on the way for drinks and paracetamol...:rotfl:
So I shall try again tomorrow - fingers crossed I feel better. I was going to forego my support group to go clothes shopping for a new coat for next week, but I think that will have to be put on the back burner and I will try and sort out my list...
Nattys list:- [STRIKE]Whites wash load[/STRIKE]

GWS Natty. I hope you can get away as planned x
I'm suffering from one of my grumbling migraines atm. I'm OK for an hour or so, then I go desperately tired and just have to sleep, whatever the time of day. Somehow I've got to store up enough energy for Toddler Group tomorrow (which involves moving an awful lot of chairs to make space, and then putting them all back afterwards).
Yesterday I managed to dust and hoover upstairs and clean the bathroom reasonably thoroughly. Today flying has been limited to washing up and wiping down the kitchen surfaces, and plumping up the cushions on the sofa, but the rest of the house is clean and tidy anyway.
Will be back when I can...0
