Morning
Yesterday’s dinner went pear shaped as DS3 didn’t cook (he got an offer to go to a friend’s for dinner instead) so his gain was our loss. I had baked spud, cheese HEA2 + extra (4), beans, cucumber & tomatoes. Was nice and filling and on plan.
Today am hoping DS will actually cook, but if not (he’s 19 so I expect flakeyness) it’ll probably be a SW ping meal.
Today’s plan:
B - porridge HEB with sliced apple & cinnamon, with water & milk from HEA
L - HM butternut squash soup; skyr yog (1.5)
D - chicken pasta (3) or ping meal - free
Snack - banana
Non-SW news: you may recall one of my adult sons wasn't having a great time a few weeks back, and he was struggling with life. Well, this week he got his dream job, after months of being in/out of rubbish ones. He has recently kicked the GF who was undermining his efforts into touch, and the new employer has argued his new salary UP! He is so happy, and saying he is so glad he asked for help from me, and realises he needed to walk that hard path to get to this point of joy.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Managed a 2.5lb loss last night. Trying to control the urge to comfort eat. Currently not overly bothered if my meals aren't totally on plan, if they make me more satisfied and not eating bad snacks.
Saying that, had a full english breakfast, sw version.
Expecting bad news from the hospital. We know there is something wrong with my daughters spine, but don't know what or how serious.Zebras rock0 -

Fab news sary! I have a DS in final uni year looking for a w/e job, he has some pt uni advisory work, but would like more paid work, no luck so far, has had couple of interviews.
I gained 1lb at WI yesterday and it feels like the end of the world, like I am back at Day 1 of my SW journey. How ridiculous is that? Feeling absolutely rubbish and sorry for myself and so want to snap out of it
I think other stuff has not helped my mood, like empty nest and OH working away all week. Plus was going to see DD for her bday in Cardiff as she had a free Friday morning, but that has changed now so have cancelled hoteland am sending her a couple of parcels instead with her presents in. So won’t see her at all for her 20th bday, I know she will be fine, is busy, has nice mates, but am missing her. I know in the grand scheme of things this is all small fry, especially compared to what some other folk are facing. So am sorry to ramble on, just wanted to get it off my chest.
Am going for a long walk with the dog trying to clear my head and get on with the day.

Well done PIB! I'm sure distraction is the way forward. Focus on the things you can do something about. Sorry to hear you're not going to Cardiff but these things will pass. You know a pound is nothing in the grand scheme of things. One plus of empty nest is that you can focus on yourself and plan to lose it ASAP.:)
I'm glad you managed to get to WI kathrynha. It was worth it!:T Fingers crossed that it's not the worse news for your DD. Sending you a big hug.:A
Great news about your DS sary. It's a tough world out there for young people.
I'll be out at lunchtime and really don't feel hungry enough to eat before I go. If needed, I'll probably either have a JP (our Debenhams caf! does a good one) or a Tuna Nicoise salad from Pret because the dressing is separate so I can control the syns. I know it's not very mse to grab lunch on the go but I don't do it often. What would others recommend as SW friendly options assuming all the usual shops/chains are available?
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porage with HEA1 milk
L: tbcSW Bolognese (P,S) with tagliatelle (F), HEA2 Parmesan
Syns: depends on lunch0 -
Aahh, Kathrynha, hope it is the positive side of things that you hear.
Today is a case of good, glorious food! Had either a stomach bug or food poisoning on Saturday, last night was a not so adventurous jacket potato with beans and some salad, as I had not been shopping, had to make do with what I had, but it was something I wanted to eat and enjoyed it, my first food, bar a test slice of toast yesterday at lunchtime since Saturday morning. Positive side must be a loss! Won't be as good as our consultant, she weighs at a group she is covering and was staggered to lose 8 1/2lbs, she was so shocked she took a photo of the monitor and sent it to our whatsapp group! If I make 4, I will be happy, almost at my original target but will drop it. Dropped a jeans size this week, which means I desperately need to buy more new ones as my others are really falling off me now, not sure whether that is good or bad news!
Denise, hope all going well for tests.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
