Yes, Joedenise, I was quite impressed with myself resisting the other half. The cat was happy.

PS Is it possible to eat too many eggs? I had two and then the quiche...

Well done on half the escalope. I know it's easy to end up eating a lot of eggs on SW. They can make you constipated, but the third speed should cancel that out.

Not having the best of days today, but determined to go to SW tonight. I need to do it, to give me some accountability.

Pollyana there's no limit to the number of eggs you can eat but as Kathrynha says it can make you a bit constipated but the Speed helps in that department!

Kathrynha do you have a friend who already goes to the group? If you do then she could go with you and then she'll get a free week next week - it's the last week of Bring a friend get a Free Week. It may be tasters tonight at the group as it's SW 50th birthday this week. My group is tasters, I always find it difficult to decide what to do as it's a morning group with no kitchen/microwave facilities so everything has to be cold. Everyone seems to enjoy my falafels so will probably end up making those again.

Well done on cutting back on the Bernard Matthews pollyanna . It shows your determination.:T

I'm having an easy day today. I made a huge casserole last night and DH suggested we have leftovers for dinner tonight. That's a first for us. :D

    Today's EE plan :
B: NAS grapefruit (F), fried egg (P), baked beans (F), HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
    L: LO veg and beetroot (S), ham(P)
    D: LO chicken casserole (P, S, F)
Syns :0 (counted the cornflour yesterday)
  • I had my crustless quiche for lunch today and very nice it was too. Had a heap of salad with it as well.

But I'm having mince tacos (minus the tacos) and rice for dinner tonight. The obvious thing to have with it is salad, but not sure I can face salad twice in one day! What else could I have with it?

What other veg do you have available? I sometimes fry up mushrooms, courgettes, spring onions, asparagus, tomatoes (whatever I've got in) and then add the mince to reheat. As the rest of the meal is on the hob it wouldn't be very efficient to do roast carrots or anything like that. Alternatively, have a big bowl of fruit with yogurt or something to fill you up afterwards and get some more Speed in. :)

Thanks for that. In my house, it would be effective to roast carrots as well, so might do that. I say this because I can't just mix all the veg with the meat due to little people being fussy. Might grab some mushrooms on the way home, that's an idea. And asparagus, never really had it before. Always thought of it as expensive. I'm guessing it can just be fried?

Yes, you can fry asparagus. It's not too expensive now as it's seasonal. If you're turning the oven on to roast carrots then I'd bake it. I make a little foil tray and put the mushrooms and asparagus on it, spray with frylight and bake for about 15 mins on a baking tray (saves washing up). Or you could buy some mange tout or sugar snaps, they need poaching for about 5 minutes. You could even eat them raw!:D
  • OMG can’t believe I did it today; lost 1lb which got me my 5st award!! Just goes to show what you can achieve if you put your mind to it :D. If I can do it, no reason why you can’t do it too ;););). This SW thread is incredibly helpful with support and tips, and going to group has been incredibly beneficial as well.

We had our 50th birthday celebrations at group today with a Tea Party. Lots of SW friendly food, we always have a nice turnout. I did individual Marmalade Baked Oats which all went :rotfl:. We also all brought in a raffle prize with all proceeds going to MacMillan, making it into a MacMillan Coffee Morning too.

NSV today, I know, another one . With today’s torrential downpours, I still had to walk the dog. So out came the LLBean waterproof trousers, bought pre-kids in the USA in the 1990s, and kept by me as a true MSE as they could come in handy one day . I can get them on again :rotfl:, was well happy :):):).

Anyway celebrating now with a limited amount of chocolate :o. Next weekend we have the 3 day wedding in Devon, which was a big motivational factor in starting SW in January. Will have to find another focus to keep me on track for the future, think I want to try and lose another stone by the end of the year. For the moment just want to get past this wedding, lots of potential family drama, fingers crossed certain family members behave themselves. Got 2 nice dresses ready, and finally feel quite comfortable with my reflection in the mirror :o. But a size 14 would be even better, so will be sticking to plan. Well mostly :rotfl:.

Keep at it folks, SW works!! ;)

Well done PIB on your 5 st award. You can definitely lose another stone by the end of the year if you stick to plan most of the time and don't go overboard when you go off plan!

That's a great NSV getting into a much smaller pair of trousers.

  • Thank you denise.

Meant to say also polyanna, don’t think you can have too many eggs. Most days I have a sweet omelette for breakfast, these days made with 2 eggs (used to be 3), which takes up one half of my plate. The other half is filled with whatever speed fruit I have lying around like straw/blue/raspberries, satsumas etc. Then topped with half a Muller and ff fromage frais, to counteract the sweetness of the Muller. I think all the fruit negates the constipation factor of the eggs :o. I always have a bowl of boiled eggs available too, ready to add to a salad or handy as a savoury snack. Plus at the w/e OH will do a SW fry up with bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans etc, so even more eggs :rotfl:. Don’t think I could do SW without them!
