  • Hello everyone . Delighted to check in after WI with a 3.5lbs loss this week :D:D:D. One more lb will get me my 5st award, should be next week. Have been recording everything passing my lips, which seems to work for me, keeping me focussed. As well as staying away from carbs, they definitely slow down my weight loss.

NSV this week, bought a sz14 tshirt for £4 in Sainsburys and it fits, yay! Bit of a change from sz20/22 which are now flapping in the wind on me, so they are going ;). Also found some jeans in Sb which went thru for only £4.50, but haven’t tried those on yet :o.

Next week we have our SW ‘party’ to celebrate 50yrs. We elected to have a Tea Party, so everyone has to bring something suitable to eat. We are sort of combining it with being a Macmillan coffee morning too, and have been asked to bring in small gifts which will be raffled with proceeds going to Macmillan. Think I might make the sweet potato brownies to bring.

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the sunshine, thinking off those missing and going thru hard times.

    Poundsinbucks x :)
    🥳🥳 SW -6st 3.5lbs 🥳🥳
  • I'm back with a vengeance! Just read through new thread and can't believe how much carp in life gets chucked at people, so big hugs to you all.

WI on Thursday, but am on plan, arrived home about 11 on Sunday night, straight into kitchen to make overnight oats (yogurt was the only "fresh" food in fridge!) so breakfast was sorted. Think I am going to eat the Egyptian way in future, small plates (a little bigger than a side plate) with whatever is for meal in serving dishes, then just eat a plate full and then have seconds/thirds as necessary. Should be more able to control portion size rather than plating meal and scoffing the lot whether needed or not so any leftovers don't go in bin. At least this way, any leftovers are untouched and can be left in fridge for next day. They also only tend to eat 2 meals a day, as it is so hot, this is easily done.

I have no idea on what damage I have done, but with everything going on before I went on holiday, SW went out the window, so yesterday morning was like a new start, went shopping after work, so have a nice stock of SW friendly food, made a crustless quiche, cooked some chicken thighs, so snacky food available if necessary. Talking of chicken, I cooked a load of chicken thighs the day of the funeral, which were gratefully received that evening, but they obviously created a lot of juices while cooking, they were skinless. I have frozen it, but will it be ok to use for soup, or will it need to be synned?
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Great loss PIB.:T and very well done on the NSV. :D

Good to see you both back gtq and doing it my way . It's normal to have a holiday gain but what matters is that you get back on plan ASAP. So well done both of you.

When you defrost that stock gtq you should be able to skim off any fat. It'll probably be delicious but not 100 % certain it's syn free although it should be.

Interesting about craving getting back on plan. I really miss loads of veg when I'm away. I always use serving dishes at home. It's a throw back to when the DDs were little. They seemed more inclined to try things because they could help themselves and, as you said, leftovers can be used again not binned.

  • It's weird but when away I really did not want to ruin my diet. I feel like I have worked so hard to lose weight and it's the 3rd time now i've done it. I worried that I would just cave and give in. The day we left I weighed and had lost another lb so I was at the weight was 4 years ago when we went abroad, so I was chuffed. When I got there and saw what was for breakfast, I was absolutely gutted. Bread, toast, dried fruit, croissants, pastries, full fat greek yogurt, bacon and fried eggs, cheese... but no normal just as it grows fruit. So I ended up eating a few tiny pieces of the dried toast with a thin layer of jam and a cup of tea. No dinner until around 4pm when I ate a banana and then a meal in the evening, every evening the same, chicken, boiled potatoes and salad, but covered in oil. By the end of the week I was so ****ed off that I ended up eating a handful of crisps and a rich tea biscuit at 4pm with my banana as I was starving and a tiny piece of wholemeal (or looked it) bread. I am sure I didn't go over my syns each day with that but the oil well! that's another story.
    Anyway today :)
Breakfast as we didn't have any fruit was the soup, so all speed other than potatoes and sweet potatoes
Dinner more soup and a wholemeal roll HEB with cheese 28g HEA and beetroot
Tea was rocket, tomatoes, cucumber, eggs, beetroot chicken and bake potato. With yes!!! Lighter than light mayo so I had two tbsps, which I think is 1 syn??
I am going to have a biscuit later with my cup of tea it's an aldi chocolate oatie but havnt worked out the syns yet, but have missed out on having my full amount of milk as my HEA.
Usually when I ruin my diet my mentality is such that it is ruined for good and then I eat like a pig for ever until I am way too heavy again and then start a diet again but I know not to cheat at all. At the moment I am much more easy on myself and I think it might be because I was so restricted for such a long time and felt ill now it is like I am not restricted at all, in fact on SW I have loads of food :)
Weight loss 6lb/16lb 10lb to go
I spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough

Hooray! No spending all day at hospital today - but still need to go as having my ENT consultant appointment this morning. Hoping I might finally get some good news, but of course there's still the possibility I'll have to continue with fluids but can't make it this week as have other appointments elsewhere which means I don't have a full day available until next week!

    Today's plan:

    B - porridge, fruit - HEB, S, F
    L - 2 pea soup - Split peas P, petit pois & potato F, onions, garlic S
D - gammon steak; bubble & squeak (made with last night's mash which I forgot to dish up :rotfl:, F; S, fried egg P; beans F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge
    Syns - none planned

Think I need to have some syns today as I've actually ended up with 24 Syns to spare and I know I don't lose if I don't have most if not all of them! Maybe I'll have to make a synful pudding today:rotfl:. Cant remember the last time I was in this position, if I ever have!

Where did you go on holiday?
Must admit we've had good/bad food on AI holidays but normally there's lots of fresh fruit and salads to fall back on.

    Morning all.
