kathrynha sorry to hear your father is in hospital, life can be a b*tch.

If you think it will help then definitely rejoin tomorrow evening. I can understand you leaving when there is a temporary consultant in place as it can feel like you have gone to another group and feel a bit out of place.

Today's food looks good and you have a plan which is probably the most important thing. I always find that as long as I plan I'm more likely to stick to it. I've always planned to a certain extent since joining SW but now I try to plan a month at a time but I'm finding it much harder than I used to so may actually go back to weekly planning and then I can make more use of the Aldi Super Six than I currently do, although there's not much in this week's that interests me but will probably get some figs for DH (I'm not keen on them myself but may have one).

Only you can decide if you are going to rejoin but good luck with whatever you decide to do. You know we are always here for you if you need extra support or decide the time isn't right to rejoin right now with everything that is going on in your life

Yes, it didn't feel like 'my' group with a different consultant.
I've always planned, from a money saving aspect as much as a healthy eating one. I find a week at a time is about right, although I have a master list of main meals, which in theory means meals don't get repeated too often.
Also thought this weeks super 6 wasn't great. Love corn on the cob, but daughter can't eat it with a brace. And figs just belong in biscuits.

Sorry to hear you've got yet another worry kathrynha but good news that your dad is out of ICU.:)

You're perfectly capable of following the plan on your own but it might be good for you to go to a group. It would give you an hour in the week to focus just on yourself. Just a thought.

Is the cauli cheese in your roast dinner? Did you not syn it yesterday?

I find weekly planning works well for me although I know your monthly one is flexible. What I like is that at the end of each week I make sure I plan to use up anything fresh that's hanging around although that's usually a bit of veg rather than anything you'd make a main meal out of. Super 6 varies hugely, some weeks I don't buy any of it. This week I bought some tomatoes and lots of beetroot!:j

I've stocked up on beetroot too.

I haven't been synning stuff really at all Maman. Just starting to get back in to thinking I should. The cauli cheese is part of the roast dinner. Daughter loves it. It won't be great syn wise, but once it's divided between the portions it could be worse.

I know you lot are all here to help me, and I know I know the plan and stuff, it is mainly the group support, and making time to look after myself that is what I feel I need.

    Morning all.

Well done to all the losers. After this weekend it is very unlikely that I will be joining you this week....enough rubbish food and beer to give SW purists a fit and probably a fortnight's syns in two days ( but I enjoyed every minute of it and don't regret it.)

Like Penny's Fruit and Nut, I think a 'blowout' is to be expected now and again!

Back on the wagon today - need to plan for the week, check what I have in and probably shop tomorrow.

    Have a good day, everyone.
  • I lost a lb!!!! Well, 13oz to be absolutely precise.

Thanks for everyone's help on the lasagne.

What has been decided is that a microwave lasagne will be bought for the daughter that wanted to have lasagne today.

The other daughter was always going to be having just mince and the red sauce before it was made into the lasagne.

Then my mum announced she wasn't too keen on lasagne. I said I wasn't pushed as I like spag bol just as much. So the three of us are now having spag bol made with Dolmio.

I have tried from scratch in the past, but the girls didn't like it. I think what I could do is make a few portions of syn free bol sauce for myself on the days when the girls are having spag bol. But it all seems like a faff and if I'm being honest, spag bol isn't a meal I would choose (if it was me choosing), but it's nice enough and I don't want the girls to get a complex if I start eating different meals to them.

So enough of that saga, sorry, haha.

    B - coffee (HEA1), watermelon (S), banana (F)
L - crustless quiche (HEA2), lots of diff salad (S), WW Yog (0.5) (will swerve the Pufts).
D - spag bol (of some sort (2.0)
    S - Alpen Bars (HEB)
    Tea

Tomorrow's dinner is a dilemma as I am going straight to view a secondary school after work. Being met at the train station, so the girls will have eaten (gammon, potatoes, veg), but I won't have. Can't think of anything to eat that I can just take with me, so might have to just have an Alpen Bar on the way and then a curry from the freezer when I get in.

Have just read on my group's Facebook page that there is a new 12 week Countdown offer starting 13 October which includes a Christmas gift (no idea what but there's probably another Christmas book coming out - there seems to be most years!).

Hope this helps some of you who are thinking of joining or who already go and thinking about a Countdown.

There's another week to run for the Super 6 so you'll be OK for beetroot. :)

:T on your loss pollyanna .
I can see that if you don't particularly like Bolognese then it's not worth batch cooking. I do mine in the SC and freeze 8 or 10 portions at a time so not too much of a faff. I doubt the girls will find it strange as they are having different meals themselves today.

I'd certainly go for a [STRIKE]Hi Fi[/STRIKE]Alpen and eat later tomorrow. If it's not a HEB then I'd take a banana instead.

vegastare not tried the fishcakes myself but a couple of people from group have and both have said "never again, they're horrible". That's for the minted ones. Apparently they smell fishy but don't taste as if there's any fish in them!

I much prefer to make my own fishcakes, they don't take long and can be frozen for later.
