Cant get through to utilita, have successfully claimed my credit back via direct debit reversal!
My last Eversmart bill (generated using actual readings supplied on their last day of trading - 6/9/2019) showed that I was £113.64 in credit.
I cancelled my Direct Debit shortly after this, before the next DD was due to be taken.
Are you saying that I can contact my bank and ask them to refund me this exact amount using the Direct Debit guarantee? Wouldn't the DD still have to be active to allow this?
My switch to Breeze was completed yesterday.0 -

No, you can only claim a multiple of your monthly payment. Say you DD was £30 a month, you'll have to claim back 4 months, this will return £120 to your account and you will then owe £6.36 to the Eversmart administrators. At some point in the next year or so they're likely to ask you to pay this amount back to them, which is fair enough.
My DD was £58.26, so that's the most I could reclaim.
But I ask again, wouldn't my Eversmart DD need to still be active to do this? I cancelled it shortly after they stopped trading.0 -

This means that when the Eversmart administrators have worked out all the figures, they'll send you a bill for £2.88, assuming they can even be bothered.0 -

I cancelled my DD then the following day requested my bank refund the last three DD amounts, which was about £10 more than my Eversmart credit balance. Money was back in my account within 10 minutes. As and when and if someone requests the £10 back I will happily hand it over. In the meantime I'm switching from Utilita and already got the 'sorry you're leaving' emails/texts. So I no longer have the hassle of continually checking my Utilita account to see if my Eversmart credit has landed (which as of today it hasn't).0 -

As other posters have commented, yes you can. I cancel my DD then contacted the bank and had then return the full credit, some £250.
Happy for me to owe a small amount to the administrators when the time comes.0 -

Anyone received a bill or refund yet ?
I received a statement on 23rd October from someone at Utilita working on Eversmart accounts, up to the date of transfer to Utilita. It was incorrect as it used an estimated final reading which was way out of line with previous usage - and ignored the actual reading that I had supplied.
I was told a dispute would be raised internally, but I'm still waiting to hear further.
No bills received in respect of time at Utilita.
I'm expecting that the small credit I had with Eversmart will be wiped out by the high charges at Utilita, but I won't be paying anything until they can get the figures to correspond with mine. Luckily I cancelled my Direct Debit straight away, and have since transferred elsewhere.0
