  • And the utilita joke carries on....

Received my welcome pack, so thought may as well register as I'll have to pay something at some point, and my customer number is one digit longer than can be entered on the site, !!!!!!!
  • Im in credit with Eversmart, well now utilita, have just instigated a switch to Green, which is a variable tariff however the app seems to get some good reviews from what i have seen.
Hopefully Utilita will be quick giving me my credit like Octopus were when i switched after the Iresa collapse
  • Has anyone had any contact from Utilita about any credit/debt owed from Eversmart?

I've just spent a few minutes modifying my spreadsheet to show how much more my bills would be if I was paying the current Utilita tariff that we've been moved on to, rather than the Eversmart Welcome Home tariff.

All a bit theoretical, I know but I just wanted to get a rough handle on how much more I'll be paying before my switch away from Utilita is completed. (I'll be moving to Breeze, which is slightly cheaper than the Eversmart Welcome Home tariff).

I've done only the electricity part (I'm dual fuel) and I've found that my electricity bill for each of the most recent 6 months would be, on average, £10 more if I was with Utilita. Compared to my actual Eversmart electricity costs, that's an increase of 41%.

For example, for the 31 days between 6th March to 6th April 2019, when I used 161Kwh of electricity (average 5.19Kwh per day) my actual Eversmart cost was £26.11 whereas it would have been £36.89 if I was on the Utilita tariff. Presumably the same percentage increase would also apply to my gas costs.

I knew I'd be paying more for energy from Utilita but I didn't realise it would be so much more.
  • Same happened to me. Home on Monday to no electricity. Apparently Eversmart information was incorrect and said my account in arrears hence disconnection.

You what?? Are you posting on the correct thread?

Nobody should be disconnected just because of the collapse of Eversmart and accounts being temporarily moved to Utilita, irrespective of whether or not their Eversmart account was in debit or credit.

Welcome pack says the smart tariff applies from 1 October but anyone know what tariff applies for the period from joining Utilita up until 30 September? I presume my Welcome Home Eversmart tariff will be used to calculate final bill until 18 September when transfer to Utilita completed.

Has anyone received a request from Utilita or Eversmart administrators to provide a final/opening meter read for 18 September as the administrators would need this to calculate what the credit or debit balance due is?

I think it may be where Utilita information received from Eversmart incorrectly states that you are on a PAYG rather than a credit meter and so disconnect it due to the account being in arrears.
  • Hi, I'm late to the party. I only noticed something was wrong when I checked my bank statement and noticed that Eversmart took a September payment via DirectDebit although I left Eversmart end of August.

When I left I was in credit on my account and I hadn't yet received an end of account statement.
Who do I have to contact about the repayment of the credit on my account? I tried Utilita but they have not got me in their accounts.
    Ta!

It is the responsibility of Utilita to deal with all matters regarding Eversmart. The big problem is that many of these smaller companies that have taken on SOLR are not wanting to deal with the repayments, OFGEM needs to make them clearly aware of their responsibilities. Contact your bank for a DD guarantee refund on that September payment then raise a complaint with Utilita, giving them your Eversmart account details, and see where it goes. It might take some time and you may end up at the ombudsman but you will get your money back.
