The proposal is that a VONC is passed and JC forms a new temporary govt.
Thought it had been reported that Swinson wouldn't support it if JC was to be the new leader..

She might have to if she wants to avoid a no-deal Brexit.

Her assertion is that Corbyn doesn't have the support of enough MPs, but her suggestions of Ken Clarke or Harriet Harman have even less support.

Yes, and the Lib Dems word is their bond.

I wouldn't even trust them to continue supporting Remain if they thought switching would get them into No. 10 again. And I used to be a card carrying Liberal Democrat member.

The thing with Boris is that he's teflon man, no scandal affects him or sticks to him. He is as crafty as a fox, an election winner and utterly ruthless. I like him.

And the way he will frame the upcoming election as 'boris for the people' whilst painting Corbyn, Swinson and others as enemies of the people is brilliant.

Once the election process starts and he gets Lynton Crosbie on board to run things, with just enough rhetoric to steal a good chunk of Brexit party votes, I think he's just about home with a working majority.

The whole thing about brexit is that you cannot ignore the people. I wasn't fussed much either way, brexit might be awful, it might be neutral, it might be brilliant, no one knows: but the people voted, and that is that

Fortunately Corbyn is unelectable by the public at large, frankly, anyone except him will do for me.

If he doesn't deliver a Brexit by October 31st (which he legally cannot at the moment) he is through politically. Even if he does, there will be an election shortly after and it's hard to see him or the Tories winning it.

I don't share the same view of Johnson as you do, or even really understand how you can hold it. If I were to list 10 attributes of the man the first would be, 'incompetent' and I would work up from there. But, like Trump, a certain section of the electorate lionise him as mirroring their values. Even though he would gladly walk over their gullible dead bodies to claim his next million dollars of stolen money and another grubby sexual dalliance.

I didn’t suggest how likely the plan was. It’s been watered down to say that the only reason to put JC in is so he can extend and then immediately call a GE.

Clearly that’s to keep the Lib Dem’s sweet.

But of course it could be the case that Boris is booted as PM, the tories also decide to get shut and have to find another new leader. If that happens then they couldn’t support a quick GE. They might want time to regroup and let a lab/snp/lib/green/ind shambles deal with the brexit fall out and get into it’s inevitable collapse.

Sniping from the sidelines is easy, but actually to be in charge of brexit is a poisoned chalice for any party at the moment. CCHQ might quite like being out of the firing line...

Boris is electoral ‘catnip’ while Jezbollah is seen by a large majority of the public as something you’d find in Tiddles’s cat litter tray. (You see what I did there?) :)
BJ followed his being harangued by a Labour activist aggrieved father in a hospital one week, with another visit last week where he was roundly cheered by the patients and staff alike. ‘Go get em Boris’ and ‘Well done Boris’ they cried. :)
The rebel alliance is gonna get creamed and deservedly so.

Have you got any evidence for that? I saw a very short clip of people cheering as Boris left, with a couple of awkward handshakes, some horrified faces and a woman dodging out of the way.

I'm just wondering if he'd visited a 3rd hospital that was suitably primed.

I suspect we may have seen the same clip, but have put a different slant on it. If you disagree with my view on the clip, link to it and we can see what others think.
