fair enough its out of stock... but if they are eventually willing to supply a 40gb colour ipod for that price its still good. Have they given any clues about when they plan to get stock?
I think I need to ring them to make sure they have found my order.

I rang today after no response still to my emails and have been told sorry no ipod for you. Pretty much same response as ruiner99 I asked for an address to complain to but think I will give up on this. Never mind have to stick with my Archos.

i bought an ipod from the apple refurb store today the 40Gb ipod had 58% off its RRP. Came to about £175 i think, the 20GB ipod had 50% off its RRP, £150 i think.
I think there are only 20GB left now, the store openes every wednesday at 10am and you have to be quick.

i did exactly the same and got the 40gb one at about 10am for £170. got emails from them already so i'm guessing they are working it through quicker than the store did, really have to commend apple for making me happy in the end.Hello Floor Make Me A Sandwich!0

Cant believe it. After my phone call yesterday with customer service telling me that no way would I get my Ipod. A courier turned up 5 mins ago with my 40gb Ipod!
I told her about the phone call and she said loads of people complain about the communication between customer service and the internet because a whole different team run the internet side of things.
The box doesent say ipod photo just ipod 40gb however it does have a click wheel so can any one tell me what generation I have got and if it was worth the money.

PS I bet some of you will get one too.0 -
Great news Woolwards - does it have the colour display?
Here's keeping everything crossed for the next 2-3 days to see if I got in in the nick of time! Have had the order confirmation email only but nothing since. The Pegster

If it doesn't say Photo on the box, it won't be colour. It does seem to be a good deal anyway, since the best price I've seen for the 4th-gen 40GB model anywhere else is well over £200 (not so widely available now since it was discontinued a couple of months back, apparently due to Apple wanting to release a version with a thinner hard disk to match the thickness of the 20GB model, though it still hasn't appeared).
The refurb iPods being sold directly by Apple are 3rd-gen models..."I am not Geoff Vadar, I'm Darth Vadar"0 -
Rubbish! The 3rd Gen model does have the touch wheel. The only difference is that the other control buttons are in a row of four above the wheel instead of part of it.0
