Your bungalow reminds me of properties in Ireland, charming with plenty of space around them. Do you live off-grid?Good Lord, no! We have our own drainage and we're partially self sufficient in logs, but the grid is present in the fields, though phone and electricity cables go underground to the bungalow for some reason.Ireland has better fishing than here in the West Country, but I've stuck with what I know, being almost a 'local.'It was supposed to be Pembrokeshire.......2 -
Looks amazing @Davesnave
If I may give some constructive criticism. The feng-shui / ambiance / character would be enhanced by ditching the bin. And hiding that step somewhere. We ditched our kitchen bin as all it does is keep the detritus smell in the house. So we now use small placcy/paper bags and just get them into the wheelie bin after use.
I hope you have a ride-on mower for your acreage.2 -

I hope you have a ride-on mower for your acreage. The bin's only for clean or washed non-smelly, non-recyclable waste. The waste that might smell is out of sight and divided into two leak proof containers, depending on whether it may be composted or placed in the rat-proof council food waste bin. But you're right, I was brung up most improper, with things like swing bins on full show, so my ambience and feng-shui is virtually non-existent. Honestly, I can walk over a ley line and not feel a thing! As for the step, I'm 5' 4" on a good day and those tall cupboards would make me feel totally inadequate without it.Ride on? Well I suppose I could try, but it might be deemed abuse. They're called sheep. No I'm not going to admit to liking them; I know where that will go!6 -
Picture of you riding a sheep or it's over between us.2

We have a selection of bins in the undersink cupboard - compostable waste (emptied into the hotbin regularly as we have no food waste collection here), clean & dry non-recyclables, recycling. Anything smelly like fish packaging is just taken straight out to the wheely bin, although when it's freezing cold/wet/snowing/blowing a gale it is tempting not to. Likewise fish skins etc. mean the compostables are emptied straight after. We don't generate a vast amount of waste, so it isn't often things get smelly.0

How is this now a conversation about bins and toilets?!
@Davesnave. The house looks great, thanks for laying the table - all round to yours for Christmas dinner! 🦃
I'm coveting the barn for conversion! The front of ours is
far worse. The drive consists of MOT and there seems to be a permanent skip outside, even though I wasn't aware that we needed one (again)
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
