It's very beautiful, Doozer 😄😄😄
(And DH - who knows about these things - was impressed with it all, too 😉)

In my experience the downside of closing the lid when flushing is that too many people don't open it up again to check what state they're leaving the bowl in for the next unsuspecting visitor. 🤢2

Your interiors are stunning by the way, Doozergirl.2

I've just realised it's about 16 months since I contributed to this thread! One reason is probably because I'm outclassed here when it comes to finishing; that bathroom's something else!
The other reason is I do millions of photos of the 'works' and hardly ever bother with the finished thing, which usually looks fairly ordinary and boring. I don't mind things being that way myself. I just want to go outdoors and play at farming! Whenever we've consciously tried to do something more 'interesting,' it hasn't worked out as intended, probably because we're not on the same page and I realise we’re much better at gardening than interior design!
Sooo.... I thought I'd just finish the bit I started when I posted the link to the way our bungalow looked when we bought it: (clicky, open in new tab)
The kitchen/diner was one of our more successful projects. Facing north, it became a bright and cheerful space, cool in summer and cosy in winter as one wall is heated like a large radiator by the wood burner next door.
As for the overall look of the building, we're happy with that too:I'm afraid the setting still looks like this, with dumpy bags and redundant fencing. We ran out of cash in 2017 and although we now have enough to complete the landscaping, it's currently a case of "You can't get the staff!"I'm not displeased. Expenditure overall has been around £400k, which for a completely re-vamped 4 bed with 5.5 acres of land, stables and a developable 60' modern barn now looks very cheap.....but we have been here 12 years and one of us didn't survive the physical labour so well.Would we do it again? No! Well....maybe. I dunno. None of us ever knows how the alternatives might have worked out. I've seen some terrible re-build disasters and at least we're still speaking to each other. One key thing we had were people with experience to draw upon and without them I doubt we'd have made it.

That is some transformation, @Davesnave , and very MSE!
Your bungalow reminds me of properties in Ireland, charming with plenty of space around them. Do you live off-grid?
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
