  • I had the same problem, and it's still not working.

    Credit report failed
There seems to be a problem getting your Experian Credit Report. Please try again later.

I have same problem and it has been going on for over a week

Is MSE doing ANYTHING about this? It seems it has turned into the usual poor service system.

Tried complaining to MSE as well as pointing out the nonsense in the Credit Club ratings by Experian...

My front page after I log in says my my next report is available on 6 August, a MONTH AGO

It also claims that my affordability for loans is excellent yet my affordability for credit cards is very poor...

Funny that as I have in 40 yrs only ever had a utilisation on my credit cards of approx 3% and only ever used a max of 10% and have never ever paid a penny in interest charges as I have always paid off the small number of transactions immediately

Experian is regarded by Parliament as a con game trying to frighten people with deliberate false tactics such as upping and lowering one's credit scores simply in order to worry people so they sign up to the paid service.

I found Experian had claimed a transaction was suddenly created by them 2 yrs after it was sorted. I think they employ a lot of Indian call centre workers who are semi educated and barely literate and misread documents. Point out they have the wrong year and date and it was something from years ago and the staff appear unintelligible and incapable of correcting

The amount of false and reckless and libellous information they show.

Experian seems to follow the business model motto: put garbage in and (we will force them to pay to take the garbage out. And still after they pay we won't change it

I am very surprised Martyn Lewis puts his name to their business model- it seems to operate like the !!!!!:-

pay up or we'll damage your reputation

But then I guess having sold the business, now he is naturally rather less concerned...

Credit scores and ratings from the CRA’s are not seen by lenders.
So they can give you any score and rating as they wish.
It means naff all in the real world.

Gary, it is a complete con trick then. Can you imagine some local !!!!! wannabe or some local thug saying 'if you don't pay me money I will diss your reputation to the whole world' by putting in false info?

    It is like extortion...

******Just tried MSE CREDIT CLUB AGAIN AND IT IS STILL DOWN...*****

Looks like MSE is turning into the kind of arrogant "we just ignore all complaints about IT failures and service delivery of everyone else

I hear there's some guy called Martyn Lewis who often appears on TV promoting how he helps the little guy to complain. I wonder if I should call up ITV and ask him to investigate for us?

After all this failure of service delivery and nil response from MSE has been going on 8 days now...

    Martyn are you there???? Martyn?????

    Nothing is a "con trick".
No one is duping anyone into anything?

You have to remember that the Credit Club pulls all the data from Experian, so it's likely Experian have changed an API or something that is causing the issues - happens all the time.

Also, I am not aware who this "Martyn" character is?

Martin, on the other hand... :money:
  • All working for me now - dashboard correctly updated and credit report linking and working. Thanks MSE for sorting!

MSE Credit Club still not working after 9 days and MSE clearly don't read their forums and don't respond to emails I sent 3 and 2 days ago

Thanks Garry for pointing out if I spelt Martin Lewis's name incorrectly, but please you knew who I was referring to.

As for trying to defend the credit scoring agencies for their deliberate tactics of wilfully moving their scores around to frighten people and get them to sign up to their subscriptions I am amazed at anyone trying to defend the indefensible and immoral.

I am a chartered accountant who has assessed lending billions and was in fact asked to consider being Experian's FD when it was floated by GUS and I am appalled at their and the other scorer's tactics.

Try to get an answer from Experian and they refuse to engage or employ illiterates who don't understand English or lack any common sense.

Can YOU explain to me why Experian say I am a poor credit card risk and an excellent loan risk on the front of Credit Club when I have £10,000 of credit card facilities and only ever borrow maybe £100 to £200 a month and have in 50 yrs always paid every penny off? It is utter nonsense and all Experian and the other credit scoring agencies are doing is frightening and scaring people to extort money from them.

If that's OK with you I wonder what morals you were raised with or impart to your children?

I also note you don't comment on the service being down. Are you paid by the credit scoring rogues and ought to declare your interest on every post perhaps?

I did comment on the service being down - in fact I started this thread!

Anyways, ignoring the twaddle above, mine is now working and I can get to my report again (whilst ignore the scores and ratings page - happy now nwilson?).
  • The MSE credit club site has a technical glitch - it does link to the correct and current Experian report (dated 3 Oct in my case), however the actual MSE credit club interface displays different dates on the 1st page (23 Aug). I believe the issue is on the MSE side with the dates on their interface not updating/not matching the correct Experian dates.

@nwilson101 your rage appears to be very strange. Is it directed at Experian or MSE? :) and why do you care so much about either? I'd only be concerned if data about my accounts in the Experian report was wrong.

The scores and all that affordability faff on MSE (and also the Experian score) are harmless. Mine's 999 currently, but it fluctuates wildly, although I've never missed a payment and I don't have any debt apart from the mortgage. It has a life of its own, that score :)

I have found that the date on the front page and the date on the credit report are always different but always within 1 month of each other.

Also when you say 3 Oct do you mean 3 Sep or 3 Oct 2018? If it is 3 Sep then this is within 1 month of 23 Aug.

Mine also says when the next update is due, 30 or 31 days after the date of the current update.
