  • Today 12Th Feb a few days after joining Shell Broadband, I asked via their facebook page where I find the latest firmware for the modem-router, this kind of thing is not privacy related or account related. Their reply was to give me an application form to fill out. They only lend one of two modem-routers.

Been with them for about 2 weeks, no problem with connection so far.

Not used the broadband box, as the one I have from Post Office is still working.
  • I moved from plusnet to shell this month and have just received my first bill. I don’t remember when I was signing up that the price quoted was before vat. Now it works out as the most expensive package I have ever had! Same with the discount! I regret signing up to this deal immensely

Are you sure your first bill is not for a month and some extra days,as this happens depending on when you signed up ,Also what have Shell said.
  • There was an amount of £3.99 in VAT column which was then added to £19.99 for a month.  I am in the cooling off period with Shell and have signed on with another provider for £19.99. This is the amount shown when comparing different providers and it was confirmed that the VAT was included. I am not staying with a company who mislead potential customers and on moneysavingexpert website it is shown as £19.99

So you have been with Shell for a month?, if so this is beyond the cooling off period so be careful,Plus what have Shell said. Also till you got your bill credit you would pay £19.99.

Same, but my billing period covers 01/02/2021 to 08/03/2021, which covers extra days.
  • Shell billing is unbelievable went for  this offer Via our Shell Energy* link, you'll pay £22.99/mth, but you'll get £100 automatic bill credit within 3mths. This makes it a total outlay of £175.88 over the 12-month contract, equivalent to £14.66/mth.
Ends 11.59pm Mon 15 Feb. Funny i have never been charged £22.99 my bill is £26.99 not including any other calls or addons?
  • pallyman  your 'Are you sure your first bill is not for a month and some extra days,as this happens depending on when you signed up ,Also what have Shell said.' is 100% correct, because most new customers wont join Shell on the day exactly suited to their billing cycle. Like when you start a new job, the employer may for example calculate the wages on the 10Th of each month, if your first day is 23Rd, you'll have a pay day that isn't the full amount because you didn't work a whole month.
  • Good Morning,  as my partner is a recent convert to shell broadband,  i cant speak for the download performance yet, but dont be fooled by the £14.66 per month offer cost.  She's had her first bill which shows the monthly cost (after discount) of £24.21 per month (NOT the originally advertised cost £22.99 per month),  AND then SHELL have added VAT to the total amount which is now £29.05 per month, making a true monthly cost of £20.72 (after the £100 credit is taken into account)  which while still cheap is not the true cost nor maybe still the cheapest and there is nothing in the advertising etc that mentions anything about VAT being added - my old (BT) providers  advertised cost was the one you paid!
