  • Again I am reminded of the difference that a good night's sleep makes. I feel almost human today, and as raring to go as I ever get on a Sunday. I'm not even too stressed about going back to work tomorrow, but I'm sure that will come as the day goes on :rotfl:
Hoping for a nsd - the freezers are absolutely full so I need no food stuffs for me (I wish my kids were less picky)
Get caught up on the washing - don't know where it's all come from all of a sudden
Go and visit my mam for a catch up and a free feed
While I'm there ask her if she knows anywhere local I can look for blackberries.
Pack my school bag for tomorrow (my kids still have a couple of days off yet)
    Sort through my clothes
Knit (foxgloves - I am finally biting the bullet and attempting socks!)
Relax and watch some more of my box set
Soak in the bath with a book.
As you can see - today is about enjoying my last day off...

...but have been watching .....Jonathan Creek as there are missed episodes I haven't watched.

HK, JC is one of my mental-health-related obsessions. I used to live one mile from the mansion where Daemon's Roost was filmed and run/lollop in the grounds there often. That's the episode with wee Warwick Davis in.

    Ditty ideas for gammon:
A roast dinner (roast it like any other meat) and eat with roast vegetables and gravy

You can alternatively simmer it on top of the stove or cook it in a slow cooker or one of those Instant Pot things (my daughter has one of these, which is why I have heard of it!) Timings will vary according to the size of your joint, if the timings aren't indicated on the packaging, google is your friend
Hot boiled gammon goes traditionally with pease pudding, which is a bit of a faff to make, but very nice
    Thanks

    New list of jobs:
    Cook gammon
Make crumble w berries and apples I picked this morning, while dog was chasing rabbits

Will I ever have an nsd day; yesterday I ended up buying a gift for my niece in other country - normally I would have bought everybody gifts all year (£25-30) but stopped that as everybody is now over 18 - she is only 16 so will continue, not sure relatives will appreciate logic!

Today I had to get gas for my car for the week and pay for ds sport even though he can't really do it till November - after bike crash. Went to introduction this morning though - at 8 aargh - just to motivate and be part of.
Double bass from earlier in the summer is now back in my room while ds is home for a couple of weeks, am hoping it will move to the dads residence soon, other wise more dramatic measures will have to be taken. (It lives on ds bed, when he is not home!)
Thanks for all the kind comments about my work - I need to take my income situation as serious as my spending situation :-)
Hope everybody is having a peaceful Sunday.
