            Morning
Sorry to hear that things aren't going so well for you[, Happykitties and Ditty
I din't really managed much tidying or decluttering yesterday - got caught up in something else. Must try harder and make a big bent in it before I go on holiday at the end of next month,
Today's tasks
Check bank accounts and move pennies.
Lunch and dinner taken out of freezer.
Afternoon treat (lemon tart) to have with a cuppa taken out of freezer.
Clean kitchen (fridge needs a bit of a wipe over and tidy and hob needs a good clean)
Tidy bathroom and change shower curtain
Water plants (basil has perked up a bit and mint is showing tiny roots).
And, of course, the never ending decluttering.
Have a good day (looking a bit overcast here)Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Hi sorry for short rant yesterday and thanks for all of the well wishes, but I am currently going through the yearly trauma of my boss allocating hourly contracts to whomever she deems more worthy.
And I had the nerve to re-declare that I will not work half days, as it is very hard to work 2 half days in one day even if one of those days are at home, so I'm back to step one, but with a bit of luck the 2 days will be mostly filled by cover work, which will give me the odd day off and the freedom to do my own stuff as well every once in a while.
So all will be fine fingers crossed.
Todays of NSD past, today will be mostly NSD as tomorrow is payday.
Even after a difficult month with emergencies and big budget expenses ... I still have £200 in my emergency fund, it's not what I hoped but it's a lot better than nothing.
And managed a 4 m club hill running session so am mush today

            Morning all :coffee:
HK - so sorry to hear that you're so worn out and that the op wasn't fully successful. Lots of love to you
Ditty- I'm pleased there is something of a solution to the work issue. Fingers crossed it all works out.
I hate to blow a trumpet here, but I actually slept well last night :j I'm very appreciative of the cooler weather. I like a sunny day but not too warm as I don't have a fan or air con in the house. Still had a bit of a fuzzy head when I got up but it seems to have cleared with a massive cup of tea.
It's very close to the end of the hols today so I'm trying to make the most of sitting on my bum :rotfl: I have a bit (loads) of crochet needing to be done, a bit (loads) of OITNB left to watch. We're going out later - depending on the weather either to a local outlet shopping place or for a walk. My cleaner is coming this afternoon and I want to make sure that we're out. I've already washed dishes and put the rubbish and recycling out. Looks as though I have at least another load of washing as well.
Other than that it's just be kind to myself as my anxiety is quite bad at the moment.
Have a good day all :wave:Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning again you wonderful & knowledgeable lot!
I've soaked the bag of chickpeas overnight, am I right in thinking I just bag/box up the ones I don't need for todays recipe and can freeze them? Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

I always cook them before freezing 1LL as then they can be used from frozen if need be. Assume you could freeze them uncooked post soaking.0

Morning all. Today is a day off - as I've only recently started working, I'm still getting used to having days off (does that make sense?) Anyway, on this day 'off' I will be -
- shopping. Still keeping to my miserly shopping ways. Current weekly average (one adult) is £17.85. Done. Spent £16.79, including wine.
- going to the place I volunteer at to listen to a talk about conservation, and then attend some conservation training Done - great to meet up with everyone again.
- do some work for the business I (still!) run with my soon-to-be-ex - just a bit of bookkeeping, so shouldn't take long. Done.
- do some washing and hopefully get it outside to dry. It looks like it'll be cloudy but dry here today, so fingers crossed. Done - two loads dried outside and ready to be put away.
- post to the blog Done
- lunch will be the last of the Rubber Chicken (yesterday's chunky soup blitzed until it's smooth, and drunk from a big mug - or in this case from a flask as I'll be out at lunchtime) Done
- I normally have pizza on a Friday night, but I caved yesterday and had it last night, so tonight I'll be taking some mince from the freezer and making a spag bol (which is what I should have done for dinner last night). Time for me to go and do that now.
Today is pay day - by tonight I should be able to see how much money I'll be getting a month from all the various sources, so will spend the evening revising my budget accordingly. I'll be getting paid for the casual work I did in July, the work I've done in August at B&Q, the lodger paid his rent when he moved in and has set up a standing order going forward, and I'm still getting a bit of money from my own business.
I think I'll treat myself to a bottle of wine at the shops today DONE!! - but the jury's out as to whether I can go back to buying it as regularly as I used to. I don't feel I'm out of the woods yet - but I am at least heading in the right direction now.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -

Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
            Morning
Been up since 5.00 am again thanks to being wakened by a flock of seagulls. I can only assume they're lost as we're nowhere near the sea.
Pouring down here but will have to brave the weather.
Today's plan
Check bank accounts and move pennies
Water plants (all in pots on porch so rain doesn't help)
Shopping (Thank goodness Aldi is just around the corner)
Phone cousin to make arrangements for going out tomorrow
Decide what I'm going to wear tomorrow and make sure it is all in order
Lunch and dinner from freezer and stores mostly (might need some coleslaw to top Himself's baked potato)
There is a drawer in the spare room that desperately needs sorting out
Look out a new book to read.
Hope the weather is better where you are.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Many thanks for everyone's good wishes. I was warned about the surgery( I always set my heart on them working 100% but they never do
), still need some procedures and recovery will be a year. Another surgery will be happening after Christmas. Have decided that if this operation specialist wants to go back in, she can do it with the next operation, sort of like a double bubble!
Have been trying to get back into some sort of routine as I'm conscious that DD is back at uni in 4 weeks.
My favourite cat decided to pull an all nighter, she has only done this once before and ended up in the vets after being attacked by another cat. Slept well but must have had one ear awake as was woken at 6.30am by her meowing which woke the whole house up.
Decided it would be a good time to get up. Had a good day yesterday, lots of washing done but I want to do a little bit of ironing today (i must be unwell lol).
Noticed we have some Indian food in the fridge that needs using up, so will have this today.
foxgloves DD was driving me mad with all the little bits left in bottles. We now have bottles turned upside down in the bathroom and facial scrubs she is now cutting off the tops.
purps hope the allergic reaction has settied. Do u know what caused it?
Actually did a little bit of work yesterday as well. Behind on what I want to complete but not putting pressure on myself. Have pencilled in 2 meetings for Sept which I need to do out of necessity more than anything.
Still doing the Christmas shoeboxes. Last one nearly completed, hoping to get these dropped off next week while I still have DD with me as I can't lift things.
Banking and quidco all checked every thing good.
Must update my RM surveys.
That's about it from me, all very boring at the minute.
Have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
