What small DFW things will you do w/c 26th August?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Another glorious day to wake up to wall to wall sunshine and no work :j double win :D

Whilst I'd like to spend all day in the sunshine pottering, I'm not sure that will happen as I have some other stuff I need to do, including:

Last bit of washing to go away
One more load to peg out
Some stuff up in to loft
    Flylady kitchen
Check uniform situation, I think we're ok but want to check
    Pack PE kits
Get smalls to do a little homework
Get smalls to find library books to go back later in the week
    Make a cake
Put some strawberries in sugar to make jam tomorrow
Check for more fruit in garden

Have a good day all. Purps.

Hello. Can I join, please. Trying to save and get organised.

    So today.
Done a load of washing on quick cycle at low temperature. It's hanging outside drying. Just keeping and eye of the weather. Believe it or not it looks like rain here.
Having the remains of yesterday's roast chicken for lunch with some leftover potato salad.
Used the chicken carcass to make stock which has been turned into soup using the very bendy veg from the bottom of the fridge and a couple of tins of something from the cupboard. Having that for dinner with some rolls from the freezer.
A neighbour has just given me a handbag which she has used twice. She was going to throw it in the bin. I'm sure I have gloves and a scarf which would match it but if not I'll take it to the charity shop.
Water the herbs that I'm trying to grow. Not having much luck with the chives.
Take something from freezer for tomorrow's dinner, Should be enough soup left over for lunch.
Going to have a look at last week's "What small DFW will you do" for some tips.
Thanks in advance for having me.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Morning all, Thanks PF for this weeks thread.

Its another gorgeous day, its our anniversary and the last of dh's holiday so a nice chilled day is planned.

    Today we have/will
    * go to the gym and make the most of our memberships, refilled both water bottles there done
    * haven't given each other cards, don't need to spend money on that. We know how we feel about each other. done
    * called into alddee but had left the list on the kitchen counter....oh oh in the old days that would have led to a massive over spend but today we text ds1 and asked him to send me a photo of the shopping list :) so no over spending there! done
    * the kids are going to cook us lunch...I say cook ...they're going to cook the pasta to go with a bol sauce we took out of the freezer last night and reheat it but the thought was there! ;)
    * make sure ds2 finishes off his last two lessons of his online maths course as the subscription is coming to an end.
    * cook two chickens at the same time to make the most of the oven being on. - will also pop some potatoes in there too
    * wash two loads on the quick 30 degree wash and hang outside to dry

Other then that its going to be all free leisure, reading, a film and snuggling up with the family.

    Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Afternoon all :)
Natlie, I am jealous of your having enough figs to make chutney!
Toni's friend, welcome, we like new people here. Wish I could send you some chives, as they seed themselves all over the place in my little garden :rotfl:

Feeling a bit more human today, so took myself off to the local boot sale for a walk round. Found 4 nice dresses, some of which I will keep, the others will go on ebay (Monsoon, M&S, Laura Ashley etc). Paid £6 for all 4.
Dog only wanted to go round the block - not sure why, as it wasn't hot till about lunch time, it was quite foggy first thing, and I was glad I had worn my cardi to the boot sale! Dog is behaving a bit oddly I think because OH isn't here!
    Had toast for lunch
Washed dresses and dried them on the line. The Monsoon one was labelled dry clean only, but I wasn't paying £8 or so to dry clean a dress that I paid £1 for, so took the chance. I put it in on a cold delicates wash and it seems fine :) Problem is I now have to iron them, plus the stuff I dried yesterday
Made 4 tubs of lovely pesto from the load of basil I cut yesterday :D Just about managed to ram them in the freezer, along with the tagine I made yesterday. I had to take out some chicken breasts, which I will make into a curry tomorrow (some of which will have to go back into the freezer ) and some tortilla wraps, which I will just use instead of bread.
Read meters and entered readings on energy company's web site

Watered pots in front garden, as it is so dry again
Had leftover quiche, some runner beans and tomatoes for dinner. Early for dinner I know, but I haven't been eating properly since I got this virus, so meal timings are a bit odd. First proper meal (if you can call it that, but it was nice enough) for a few days.
I may do a few more things, but need to walk the dog again once it cools down, and will be getting an early night. :)
