Been out this morning, with friends, for a walk along the Cromford Canal. Perfect activity for my last day of summer.
Now off to a colleague's to go plumming. Then I'll be jamming.

    And I’m done! Phew!!!

All list completed, packing done, waiting for DH to come home so we can have supper, reset the kitchen and put the last few bits of rubbish out, supper is just a lazy, quick pizza tonight so that won’t take long.

Paid stuff all done, 2 weeks off starts now:j:T:j:T:beer:

I am just having s cuppa and a sit down, I don’t think I have ever been ready to go away quite so early before.... flylady must be working some magic on me.:j

No doubt in a bit I will be wondering if I have forgotten something but for now I am going to enjoy this organised feeling.:D:A

Happy Friday all, have a super weekend and good luck to all those returning to work or with new jobs or new situations going on. Hugs as always to those in need x

I picked a bucketful and a large washing up bowl of plums. I have taken some to neighbours up the road (who drop off peelings for my bunny) and next door neighbour has been around with a bowl, which she filled and I've taken some to the aged p's. And I have 3lb (25 plums - counted so I get all the stones out) currently simmering for jam. And I still have almost half the washing up bowl and the bucket full.
I am now researching other recipes and pondering Spiced Plums in Brandy.

    Oh - and I ate 3.

This weekend I shall mostly be sticky...

Home again home again jiggerty jig

3 x wm done and mostly dried outside

    House dysoned
  • Feeling a bit icky, round, but had the house to myself all day whilst he was at work, so it was manageable.

Sorted out the next two meds deliveries and persuaded them to deliver before I've run out.

I did 2 WM loads, cleaned crud off the hob (I do wonder why I bother when it's messed up again the moment I do it), washed up, cleaned countertops, appliance tops and then stopped for coffee.

I then cleared the coffee table, vacuumed everywhere except the studio, cleaned the bathroom quickly, as it was already looking good, just a little dusty, and then sat back down again after wiping over glass and mirrors.

He's now demolished the kitchen cooking. Which I'm not looking forward to doing AGAIN.

Well.. My house and my life are in a much messier state than everyone elses.. so you can all have a day off!

I have DS1 back home.. he moved in while I was on holiday.. with his new GF.. DD1's partner stole £100 from her and took another woman out and stayed at hers 4 days until she dumped him.. there is a lot more going on in her life other than this.. it is truly sucky!

I bought Pixie (6 two weeks ago) some 8-9 school pinafores at the beginning of the holibobs.. they are 3 inches above her knees!! I honestly could cry.. she is so huge! She is the same size now as I was at 10.. I think she might be taller than me when she has done growing!

We have this weekend at OH's mothers.. I need to be at home with DD1.. but deigned to come here, against my will and better judgement because she is due an op soon and it is a fairly risky surgery at her age.. I am about as far from tolerant and sociable as it is possible to get.. I want to scream and hit people.. all people..

School on Wednesday and Twinkle first day at nursery!!! That has come round so incredibly fast!

  • Morning all,

Nice to see you Piggers albeit that I'm really sorry things are stressy. Sending you virtual biccies and vodka.

Had such a lovely day with my best friend yesterday, we are seeing her again today, I don't see her much as she lives very far away. We are going charity shop shopping, out for a glass of wine then home to an M&S meal and TV, lush.

WM on, I must set the DW going as it's full (trying to use less energy and actually wait until it's full, at £113 a month gas and electric direct debit I need to make some changes!

    Have lovely days all x

    Good morning :hello:

    Thank you ionafan xx

A lazy start to my last day as a 58 year old :) I got up at 7am and made my bed; stood and watched the sparrows pecking about on the front lawn and flying up to the bird bath for a drink... I'd noticed that they do this each morning, so I refilled it before I went to bed last night :D

Came down; opened the curtains, then stood at the back door and watched the sky... a most amazing blue with fantastic white cloud formation stretching across. A collared dove is building a nest in one of the conifers - seems a bit late in the year, but what do I know? Woodpigeons successfully raised a baby in another conifer - but he fledged weeks ago.... my back garden was his 'playpen' when he first came out of the nest :D I love birds :heartsmil

I've had a cuppa and G00gled how to clean Vans trainers - DS wore his to a paint party when he was on holiday : they'll be going in the WM with some old towels as bumper pads and we'll see what happens. He won't wear them as they are so there's nothing to lose really - except for the money I paid for them at Christmas  Or DS can take them of future holidays to wear at paint parties!!!

Also searched for a dry cleaners nearby so that DS can have his suits cleaned.

I'm being an Organised Roundtuit this morning :A (Hope it lasts :rotfl:)

    Have a good day

    Happy Birthday for tomorrow.. xxx

If they are suede dash over with a brush .. but carpet and upholstery cleaner is most effective against paint from what I have experienced after years of painty school clothes..
