I don't know your circumstances but in regards to benefits, the best place I found was a website called entitledto. They have a benefits calculator that you can play around with, you can adjust your work hours etc to see what your best options might be.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change1

Oh no beanielou what are we like! Lol
Well it's Saturday morning and I'm sat on the bus on the way to work. The scales were in my favour this morning - only 0.3kg away from my first target. My weight fluctuates quite a large amount in a month but I'm trying to get it downward and back into my clothes. Current wardrobe is limited. Grrr. Anyway positive day yesterday. I dug the veggie patch in the garden ready to seed. My flat is rented and we moved in the summer so wasn't the best time to start growing veggies so set this as an autumn project. I'm going to try runner beans as my first veg.. excited! Also burnt a few calls yesterday strimming the lawn. I made soup for work this weekend and chucked some salmon in there yummy!
Yesterday my card moved on to new month so finally could pay for outstanding swimming lessons for youngest and guitar lessons for eldest. Sadly this is a big dent in this month's pot so I'm going to have a quiet month as a home bird. Tbh I think most people hibernate this time of year in preparation for Christmas.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Happy Monday, Its pretty gloomy weather looking at the clouds from the hive, so sad when the weekend was gorgeous and I was working inside
I'm in a pretty good mood, not received any good fortunes or anything but little bee 2 starts nursery at school tomorrow so rather excited for this. Having a quiet day at home today apart from a little trip to the garden centre to buy my first packet of seeds for my 'have a go' veggie plot. Last week it was all dug out and I was hoping to buy runner bean seeds but they didn't have the variety i was looking for so ended up with a variety of peas instead which cost £1.80. Anyway they are in the ground as we speak so pinkies crossed they germinate! Little bee had fun this morning selecting the seeds in the shop and planting when we got home.
I have a list in my mind of the garden bits and pieces I would like - must put pen to paper later!
Apart from bus fare to work and back it was a no spend weekend - good start to new credit card month.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello Friday,
Can't believe I haven't posted since monday. Its been an exciting week getting my youngest settled in nursery and a new routine up and running. He is doing really well but finding drop off hard. I'm sure it will improve as time goes on. Today was exciting as this was my first day with him in nursery full time so a normal full school hours. I used my time wisely and went for a run and used the gym equipment in the park and then spent time on studying on my course.
I received a good bit of news on the job front, one of the favoured jobs i'd applied for they have offered me an interview next weds, hair cut is booked for tomorrow. Its not budgeted for this month but hey ho.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Beanielou - cannot believe my luck. Normally work weekends but this weekend i'd booked holiday with no plans but to enjoy the time off. The weather forecast is lovely and I get to have a bit of time to prepare for the interview.
Last night was fun - went on a bat walk with my eldest in the local park, we had bat monitors to hear the sounds. Definitely recommended.
On my quest to loose the weight i've gain over the past 18 months, i'm trying My Fitness Pal, I had considered slimming world or WW but happy to give this a go first. What a fantastic app, only started using it yesterday but i'm hooked. Hopefully the weight starts to come off soon.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello diary from a wet miserable friday evening,
Today has been awful and I wish I could pick myself up out of this. Basically I've spent most of september on a natural high, really had high hopes my circumstances were getting better and today I just feel its all come crashing down and I'm back feeling low. I have applied for jobs and got rejections for all apart from one interview on weds which I thought went really well. They were going to let me know by the following day so all day goes by and by the time it got to 6pm I just knew that was it, game over. They rung me 6.10pm to confirm and since then I've just felt down. I've got paid this week - I earn very low money and its all gone. I've got invoice from school for junior bee's lunchtime nursery cover for autumn term. Its over £200 - payment due monday. I don't have it and hate this feeling I can't pay bills. I'll have to speak to school and the finance officer isn't very friendly and it'll be another conversation to make me feel inadequate for being unable to provide while gutted I just can't seem to secure better employment.
I'm sorry this post is completely pitying by me but I just feel I need to write it down to get the negativity out and pick myself up for long day at work tomorrow.
In terms of a job - I want something where I will use my brain so I'm studying accountancy but I'm finding it near impossible to break into. My current job is in retail and most definitely not what I want to stay doing. My previous career is too specialised and seems to be a blocker to getting new work and if I try to get work in my old specialism my experience seems to be too dated (I'd last picked up the reins in 2015 as most of 2015 and mid 2016 was mat leave and location is massive problem. Most jobs are 2 hrs commute in either direction. I've been self studying around my kids and other commitments but until youngest bee started nursery two weeks ago I'd not had the luxury of time. This week my head was cooked on the job interview I wasn't successful in and its just a vicious circle.
On the positive in my not so great retail job - i did manage to work my first overtime shift on tuesday and i am booked in for the following tues. Upto Christmas I plan to work overtime one day a week, have 3 days for study / house / kids stuff and the 5th day for volunteering.2025 financial goals & challenges!
