  • Good morning, after a lovely relaxing day yesterday today I'm in tears! We were going on a mid week break with my partner and unorganised we missed our coach by minutes. This has cost me my goals for this month and yet another month of overspend.. ended up getting the train and for the two of us it's £79 I just didn't expect to pay. Gutted doesn't cut it. We were THAT couple having a row in the coach station. I just feel I'm never going to get out of my situation. The reality is I NEED a job and more money coming in. Hoping to pick up extra shifts from my weekend job towards end of September. Telling myself chin up but for the next few hours I'll be feeling sorry for myself! On the positive I get to see my god friend tomorrow which is exciting.

  • Hello, after yesterday's gutting start to my mini break I wanted to post a more positive diary entry. As I wrote yesterday I was in tears as I failed yet another month of my budgeting. It just shows what a difficult tightrope I'm currently on and need to get myself off! I want this diary to motivate my progress warts and all so it was important to post the negatives as well as the positives. During our expensive train journey the lady in the seat directly in front of us suddenly started crying. I thought she was in mourning but turned out she was in pain. Before we knew it, it looked like she was having a heart attack and then passed out. The train crew tannoyed for medical help.. quickly all these doctors, nurses, paramedics and even emergency consultant turned up! Luckily no heart attack and the lady came around. Long story short she got off the train at the next station. Everyone involved did a fantastic job. I may have my money problems but health wise I'm lucky I'm in good condition. I got my butt out of bed this morning and with my lovely partner walking I went for a short jog. I had planned to do it but after yesterday's event with the lady I was doubly motivated. Getting fit and loosing weight doesn't need me to cost anything. I'm not giving up on my money goals I just got to keep fighting. When im back in the big smoke next week I'm going to focus a bit of time reading diaries and other forums to work out little ways of tweeking my schedule to see where I can make little changes. I will of course make sure I'm organised for the next time too!

  • Hi, totally get where you are coming from. Left my ex in 2011 and currently in the process of leaving my husband. Have you thought of selling some things? Ebay, FB Marketplace?

    Good luck to you x
  • Thanks 4853emma - I'm trying this but don't think i really have much to sell.

Its friday and back in the big smoke, had a fantastic mini break away. My partner ended up spending more money on the trip than I wanted him to. He is really supportive but getting more money coming in is essential.

After updating my spending spreadsheet I've got £18.28 available to spend in my budget to last me 14 days! It definitely wont sadly but Im going to see how clever I can be and see how i can stretch this!! As you can imagine today is a no spend day, tomorrow and sunday i'm back at work so will cost me my travel but I have already accounted for this. I just cant spend anything else though!

On the work front I've been in contact with an work agency and see if I could go in and speak to an advisor. Fingers crossed something comes of this.

  • Do you have any books/CDs etc you don't need anymore? Could try Ziffit and MusicMagpie, or mazuma mobile if you have any old phones lying about. I made about £80 from this when I first started. Cookbooks and language courses seem to sell the best with Ziffit.

Thanks Moguline - not heard of these sites before so will take a look.

One of the things I am hoping to get out of the diary is to change my outlook on life. Its fair to say emotionally I haven't fared so well since the beginning of last year and find myself up and down a lot. This was in part my reason for getting into debt in the first place and putting weight on. Tonight however i'm trying something new. I am missing my kids, this is now day 7 as they on holiday with their dad. I am no longer with their dad but we still get on. He has however failed to call me - I had to initiate the calls and no photos. My new partner just let me know ex has posted photos on facebook. I don't as a rule post photos of my kids. My natural reaction is to get upset and angry and normally would see me digging into crap food and feeling worse. However tonight I am writing this down instead and trying to see it differently, leave the crap food alone and instead get a good nights sleep. Tomorrow is dreaded 12hr shift at work! yuk!

n.b before I sign off I have done a bit of studying and a lot of study procrastinating today. Maybe I need to start timing myself to be a better student? I am self studying though.

  • It's hard when tour children go away. Mine are older now and have their own phones. This means that we can talk whenever we like now and exchange pictures etc

There's nothing wrong with ringing you children. Contact is contact. It doesn't matter who initiates it.
