Congrats on your progress with debt busting and becoming more frugal by taking food with you on days out. Woohoo.

Another payment made. DD has decided to not to gymnastics next term as she is no longer interested so paid that money off the loan. I also do a little lotto thing with some girls on FB and I won €113 last week so also paid that off the loan.

Not too far away from getting under 52k. I am confident I'd make it this month if H got paid them blooming expenses but they are taking an age to come through!

  • Afternoon all. Coming on to confess I was a bit naughty this week and bought 2 new pairs of winter boots and a some clothes. In my defence the winter boots I have were falling to pieces and were letting in water. MIL owed me €100 as I got the kids Xmas presents from her (for her) so I have approx €100 to find to make up the shortfall.

Still no sign of H's expenses. It's a joke now

Tesco shopping arrived this morning so the house feels well stocked. I also ordered some alcohol for Xmas. We are going to the in laws and there was a deal on so got them for a good price.

Looking forward to the weekend. Going shopping with DD and my mother for a family occasion and then going to a 50th on Saturday night.

    Hope the party went well.

Boo to expenses being late. You sound like you are on form though. Even DR quotes clothes and shoes as necessities of life. A budget is permission to spend (just with limits). Hope you enjoy your new outfits and boots.

  • Whoop whoop I'm under 52k now! H's bonus is still sitting in the saving account until I get nearer to joining the 2 loans together. When I do get nearer I'll pay it off the bigger loan.

Well on target to getting under 50k by the 1st January. That will be a real milestone and another incentive to keep going!

Great progress - over £7K gone since August. Your Jan target is looking more doable by the day.

Evening all! So many hidden expenses in December. Money seems to be going out left, right and centre for raffles, cake sales etc.

I am now under 51k which is brilliant and am on track to get under 50k by Jan 1st. My next aim will be to get under 40k by the end of June. It won't be easy but I am determined to make as much of a dent as possible. I would like to see out 2020 with just my loan.
