Eek - over a week since I posted. Really it is because nothing is going on and all my payments have been made this month!
The only newsworthy piece is we went to IKEA and spent a good bit of money last weekend. I put it on my credit card but it looks like we will have a surplus this month so will immediately pay it off at the end of the month. Will add it on to the debt sig if it increases.
Quiet weekend planned here, just the usual activities with the kids but the rest is chill outTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Ikea can suck money out of you - but the stuff does last - I daren't go though. Hope you do manage to pay it off within the month. Have a relaxing weekend. Sounds just the ticket for us too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Would you believe still waiting for H's expenses to come through to pay it off. It is taking absolutely ages. Agree the stuff in IKEA lasts very wellTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

The eve of H's payday. This month seems to have been relentless in terms of payments so I am looking forward to a nicer (hopefully) November. He is also supposed to be getting his bonus tomorrow too so fingers crossed.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

The bonus sounds exciting. I used to work somewhere where I got a bonus every May in time for half term so we used to go on holiday then each year.... Left there in 2005 and still miss it. Will be good to get another chunk of debt paid off. Did you decide to put some to home improvements in the end?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'd love to be at the stage where a bonus can pay for a holiday. Some day.....Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Thought I posted the other day but it seems to be missing!
Am forcing myself to come back on here as I can sense my usual lull and this is dangerous for me! Plus I want to see how everyone else is doing.
Haven't touched H's bonus yet as we aren't sure what to do with it. It would only pay for half the bathroom and I'm also mindful that we will be paying up to €4000 for Australia flights in Jan/Feb so don't want to be adding to the debt too much. Think we'll sit on it for a while and make plans then.
In other debt news I will be going into the 52's when the car loan money is taken out. Still on track to be under 50k by Jan 1st so will be delighted when we are and it will give another boost!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Whoop Whoop - under 53k now. That's nearly €6000 paid off since by LBM in August! If I continue on at that rate my debt will be paid off in Jan 2021 as opposed to August 2022! Not sure I will be ale to keep it up with Australia next year but it's a really good incentive!
I will have a little bit of a lull now as all the main debts are paid off but I have a few bits and pieces of stuff due back into my account so am aiming for little and often this month as it seemed to make a huge difference in September
Two MSE things over midterm last week. We went to the cinema and a trampoline park on separate days and I brought goodies from home. I've never done this before but it definitely saved cash and the kids weren't bothered at all! Am going to start doing that going forward as it will mean day trips are more affordable!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
