Whoop whoop I am under €54k. Still have the car loan to come out but then I will hold fire until the end of the month to see if anything is leftover as I have a lot of additional expenses this month.
I'm definitely on to track to get under €50k by Christmas which is a great feeling! Am still impatient to join the 2 loans together though. DFD is reduced back by one month too!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Great news, I do agree about getting work done in the house. If I had a lump sum I would definitely get the next stage of my bedroom done. I was thinking about what I could do at the weekend to do something in the house that is cheap but moves on the decorating a little step forward.
Good news on moving the dfd forward, H x0 -

I was trying to think of quick, easy wins for us too but everything seems to have a knock on effect in the house. Aside from the kitchen everything really needs doing including internal doors, skirtings etc.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Yep we're the same, it's all the big jobs that need doing. The next thing in our room is to knock the cupboard out but I'm not sure if we can do it ourselves and also it will still mean we live in a wreck until the walls are plastered and skirting boards changed. Might clean out the attic instead, we have all our camping and outdoor gear up there and looking a bit of a state.

It's difficult when so many big jobs need doing. There are no small quick fix jobs then!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Thanks DFM. I always start off well and then fall flat somewhere in the middle so I need to try and keep up the momentum!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Happy Monday
I had a lovely weekend with the kids and family. Managed to get DS's room decluttered. Took 2 days so slow going. 1 room down and 6 more to go in the house. Might leave DD's to last. It is an absolute tip!
H got word that he will be getting an individual performance bonus and a company bonus. Have decided to wait until after Christmas to get the bathroom done as we got the kitchen done this time last year and it was quite stressful in the run up to Christmas and I felt I never got organised. So when the bonus comes through I will pay it off the main loan so I can try and join the 2 loans together asap and get rid of one debt. It will also free up €388 in loan payments per month so I can start paying them off the credit cards. If we manage to get the loan there is a 3 month delay date on payments so I would hope to pay for the majority of the bathroom with that. I also need to be mindful that we will be booking 4 tickets to Oz at the end of Jan for next Christmas so my debt might go back up
Speaking of Christmas, Smyths had spend €50 get €10 at the weekend so myself and H went on Friday and spent €220 (got €50 off). €100 of that is for presents from their grandparents so we did well. I just need to get DS a fitbit and video game and they are finished. I decided I would use H's work expenses money for that rather than pay it off the loan. I will hopefully be able to overpay a bit towards the middle/end of the month but want to wait and see how I am rather than overpay now and struggle.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Sounds like you got a good deal there! It's a good feeling to get organised with presents now isn't it - makes me feel like it's just the food etc to deal with in December.0
