Paid off CC1 today which leaves me just over 40k. The car loan will go out on the 4th May and then it will tip me under 40k which is great news. I think one of the things this pandemic has shown me is that we fritter too much money on things we don't need. Myself and H definitely need savings as we are in a very vulnerable position if anything happens to his job.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Well done for getting below £40K. I think this crisis is underlying the need for emergency funds and low or preferably no debtAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Great news on paying off the credit card and the impending sub 40k status, I'm in the same position r.e. savings and emergency funds I do find it difficult to put money aside when I'm trying to pay off debt but if I don't we'll stay in this vicious circle forever!
Hope you have a good weekend, H x

Afternoon all,
Finally under €40k. I'm delighted with life today! Next now is to pay off the credit card. When I do pay it off it will be the first time in probably 20 years that I don't have a balance on my credit card so can't wait to get shot of it. I can't believe that we've nearly paid €20,000 off since last August. I am so determined to keep going and to get rid of the blasted debt. Although at last the loan was for the car and kitchen,so we have something to show for it!
We had a nice weekend. The good weather helps to get out and about and we discovered a new forest with the kids. They loved it! We also did 2 zoom table quizzes, one with family and one with friends. They are always a good laugh. I ordered some pocket hugs to send to some of my family and single friends as well. Hopefully they don't take too long to get delivered.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Struggling today and so are the kids. To be fair I've not had too many bad days but today I feel like I don't have enough hours in the day, which is ridiculous given I don't have to work as well as home school. I can't seem to get on top of the housework, schooling etc. Food is fine, we always have loads of that but need to go to the supermarket to get that tonight and also was meant to be going for a walk. Agggghhh - think I need to work out a better routine for all of us.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

All grand here this week, just plodding along and counting the days til payday. I should be able to pay a big dent off my credit card this month. I hope to have it paid off by the end of June all going well. Then it is just one debt left - the big loan. When I just have the loan left I'm going to overpay it but I'm also going to save as well. It will be the first time in my life that I've been in the position to save, which sounds ridiculous, but is true.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
