I'd love to see more of you down in the Arms, the more the merrier

the thing is that the Arms is not supposed to be seen as one of the many forums on this site, it was supposed to be a chat forum for the whole site, so any poster on any board could start chatty threads there, it has become a little cliquey with the more outgoing members doing most of the posting there, but please give it a go, start as many chatty old style threads as you like, people will choose which threads to join in with and some threads will only be used by old stylers, then the Arms will get used for what it was originally intended for, a board where all members can chat off topic,
although by its very nature I think the Old-style board will always have threads with little chatty posts sprinkled in, and that's fine and adds to the homely nature of this particular board,
the Arms could be used for threads that are just full of chat and 'how did your day go'

look forward to seeing you down there, icon7.gif

Come on people - you don't know what you're missing.

I used to be very wary of The Arms when I first joined, felt that there was a 'clique' of some posters and a lot of 'in jokes'.

But, it is not like that at all - everyone is really friendly, although you do get a few oddballs (me for one), but the main thing is once you try it I am sure you will like it!!!

Queenie is always coming in with her 'Old Style' pinny - just wish she'd bring some more home baking with her! You can always tell whens she arrived, cos the smell of bread follows her!!! :rotfl:

I always love popping over to Old Style - you are such a welcoming, friendly bunch, and I am full of admiration for all the efforts you all put into your lifestyles - and you all do it with so much enthusiasm. Hopefully you will find the Arms just as friendly and enthusiastic.

I use The Arms like my local.I post mainly on Comps,Freebies and many other boards but pop into the Arms for a chat and sometimes get stuck there.Just like a local it is full of different people and you will not appreciate the postings of some but then like a local you can choose your company/threads.
Come and try it as I,for one, would like to listen in and maybe join in.I very often visit Old Style for tips (and a laugh).Hope to see you there.icon7.gif

IMO it's no more cliquey than it's ever been. When I first joined I felt just the same as Frizz did and it's as M.E.2 says "it's full of different people and you will not appreciate the postings of some" so come on down and join in the fun icon7.gif

I am a newbie on mse and feel comfy in os. I have got a bargain though through mse the other day, 2 payg nokias on virgin with £25 credit on each for £53.98! Makes the phones £1.99 each and then another member helped me with the codes and instructions on unlocking them. Really enjoy getting a bargain. Not got a big income but I have always done a bit of os so we can enjoy the nicer things in life.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T
