If you had read one of the independent inspections, you would know that it was a very poor repair, and that was why the repair became more and more visible over time.

Their favourable trade in offer, which we have gladly done, would have been an insult if it wasn't so laughable.
So insulting and laughable that you accepted it?

There y'go, then. Deal done. The time to push for more compo than that was before accepting.

Without copying and pasting the quote for the garage, it's damage to the front passenger side bumper, wing, door .

This is not testing anything and it is not the same thing.

Sorry, that was a typo. I meant to say, we would have gladly traded in, paid more for an even better van if the offer for our "NEW" van wasn't such an insult.

OK, so probably a fairly minor scrape to panels designed to be easily replaced. This really is just about poor paintwork, then. Nothing that a simple repaint won't sort.

If the paint had been done properly in the first place, you'd never have known.

It's exactly the same thing as they both involve something getting damaged and repaired between the time it was built and the time it gets handed over to the eventual purchaser.

Repairing damage to a new vehicle is quite normal, and is often carried out by the "Finished Vehicle Logistics" contractor such as this one:-

A friend of mine worked for one of these companies near Peterborough, mainly on prestige vehicles, rectification work made up the majority of his workload

The van is new. Some of the panels are even newer.

Back in the 80s, I visited Skoda's UK importer in Kings Lynn. They had their own bodyshop on site for transport damage - which was far from rare on all those Estelles which'd already crossed the Iron Curtain...

You could tell at a glance which panels had been repaired. The paint was a lot better than the other panels. Shinier, with a lot less orange peel.
