My insurance ran out today. i didn't took new insurance yet as its my 25 b'day on 26nov. so online quotations are around £150 cheaper. I have one year NCD. My licanse is 1year old. I was with Lv earlier with no problem yet..
my new quote on their website is £624 which is like 50% of last year insurance..
My problem is online review of company is not that good..
i couldn't find any company with good review actually..
so bit confused should i stick with LV or change it...
anybody have any experience with Quinn direct??????????
please advice me.. wht to do..0 -
Do not go anywhere near Quinn, they are widely acknowledged as one of the worst Insurers, LV are not bad.
As you have found from the review sites people have a habit of only posting when they have had a bad experience0 -
dacouch: Earlier in the year, I asked on this forum, if The Co-op were ok (I hope I don't need to find out!). Before buying car insurance through them I did my best to search for reviews on the internet, and found a lot of negative comments on pretty much all insurance companies. This doesn't surprise me really, because it's usually the bad experiences that people comment on.
As you are obviously experienced on this thread, would you consider making a list of the more common insurance companies with your opinion/experience of them? Obviously, it would not be a recommendation, just an opinion, but it would be useful to those of us who don't have the same insight.0 -
Two days ago I foolishly bought car insurance from Swinton via Money Supermarket for my son, three weeks before it becomes due :embarasse ( mainly due to being pressurised by the telesalesperson ).
Does anyone know if a cancellation fee applies under these circumstances?
I thought I was allowed 14 days under distance selling regs to change my mind, but I'm told insurance isn't covered.
Swinton charge £50 to cancel.
Thanks0 -
You have 14 days cooling off and most companies do not make a charge but Swintons will normally charge £50.
It might be worth ringing them and explaining the situation, they might waive it if you agree to reinsure with them from the correct date (Make sure you take a note of the persons name and date / time)0 -
Thanks very much dacouch, I'll give it a try.
At least it's a lesson learned for the future & will not happen again.0 -
I thought this may interest some of you to know that The Green Insurance Company are having a one day only special winter sale on Monday the 30th.
A friend of mine works there and told me today. Happy shopping!0 -
Just to let everyone know, I did end up going with broadsure direct for motor trade insurance and I got a good deal.
Not sure if they are the only broker which has it but they have a dedicated claims handling service through some company called Winn Solicitors? Don't know if anyone else has heard of them or used them but it sounds good to me!0 -
Which Insurer is your Motortrade Insurance with?0
