  • My 17yr old daughter bought a Tesco Car Insurance last night but because she is not 18 until June she can not apply for a Tesco Clubcard therefore cannot have their £50 shopping or petrol voucher that is on offer!!!!
Just wanted any other under 18's to be aware of this loophole!!

Youare right, it should not be a problem for diabetics. I have the same problem, my daughter is 18 and type 1 diabetes. The insurance companies have been told that they cannot descriminate against someone with diabetes. But they do! I found More than the cheapest, but it may not be the same for everyone as it depends where you live, the type of car....

The problem I am having with my 22 year old son is that he has a 3 year restricted licence due to his diabetes. When I try to save him money by going through money supermarket, confused.com I am initially getting competitive quotes but when I go to try to take up the insurance the details of his medical conditions are not always being picked up in the quote, subsequent correction of this leads to much higher quotes or the insurance company refusing to quote at all.

Quite simply it appears the comparison websites are not giving genuine comparitive quotes for people with restricted licences / medical conditions. Has anyone else experienced this and has anyone got any tips for getting round this? I have spent most of yesterday trying to renew his insurance and am likely to spend most of today doing so as well.

Not sure if you're aware of the cashback maximiser so here's the link http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cashback-sites-comparison/Tesco+Car+Insurance#content

Having said that you'll see that there are no offers ATM for tesco car insurance.

    Hi

Does anyone know how good Lloyds TSB car insurance is for tracking on Quidco please?

Offering £80 cashback which would be worth my while as long as it tracks but not if it doesn't!

    Thanks

They give you 14 days to cancel after receiving the documents.

So if it hasn't tracked in this time you could cancel and start again.

(To answer your specific question, quidco publish the statistics on the reliability of tracking on the merchant's page)

My pleasure, and yes it's another great weapon in the money savers armoury.

  • I am in a similar situation just cancelled direct debit and being charged an extra £101 due to my car being uneconomical to repair, do you know if this is legal for the insurers to charge this amount for admin. After all if they charge a months insurance to everyone some only pay £30 and other £100s so what is the true cost of for no reason of our own having to cancel? Any ideas?
