Hi again....today has been a much better day, thanks for all of your thoughts.

Despite my plans this morning to sort out my accounts....I didn't.
I got distracted by cooking and cleaning....even cleaned the bathroom, anything than do what I should.
My roofer chap turned up today, he has replaced the loose/slipped slates at the side of the house and on the kitchen roof and replaced some guttering on the downstairs bay.
Unfortunately, the guttering at the front is too high to be reached from ladders and as the forecourt slopes away from the house, it's not ideal for a cherry-picker....looks like we have to have scaffolding.
Somehow, I think that will end up being our Christmas pressies to each other...rough estimate £600. and that's just for the scaffolding, before any work is done.

Hester, at least you are not the only the person at work who is aware of your [STRIKE]leech's[/STRIKE] lodgers's extra curricular activities.

Shez, Mr Darcy looks dashing in his santa hat, I do wish he would slide down my chimney. ;)

Mrs Mix, I hope everything went ok with the op.

More hugs to those in need, be it with lurgies, stroppy kids, sick kids, bolshy OH's or those who are just in need of a hug.

Well, internet and e-mail down at work until lunch time and as you know I cannot now be interactive from work! Have had trouble seeing what is going on as I actually had to work this afternoon!

What on earth were you up to last night Haribo, Pink, Church, Shez etc - surprised Aussie didn't join in - she must of been having a long lie! You were obviously on the cooking sherry! I have done that from time to time - numbs the brain!

Aussie - glad to hear the knitting is finished!

Hope you are all OK. Mrs Mix - I do know this was hospital day and I don't think I have heard from PennyP. Hope you are OK. CrazyC - well, we have been in touch!

Kyle - wow, decorations up! Did you do Twink's 5ft tree or get another one? I have a 5 ft tree and that is about the best we will get with a bit of tinsel and a couple of outside lights on the the pyracantha will do.

Had a domestic last night with my sister. Conversation went - are you having Mum for Christmas. I said no. Ask Mum and MIL yearly for last 20 years, they don't want to come. My Mum said last month, no, I am going to Dundee to your sister. Because my birthday Christmas Day I feel I want to be here - kids thought it great when young and DD and SIL (plus DS) understand this. We have the opportunity of a big cruise next Christmas but have told DH no as I want to spend time with the boys when young and magical at Christmas.

    Families - what?

Love and hugs to you all today!

  • I forgot to say earlier, I had my mammaogram this morning, no problems with the squishing as I a DD cup, but I had big problems getting in the right position for the sideways squish of my left boob as I have limited movement of that shoulder due to old collar bone break. I must be the only person who yelled 'Oww, my shoulder' while having a mammogram done. Mind you when I had DS2 I was yelling as they scalded me.
    Hugs Hester

The kitchen is now turning into a Saga. Decided after much deliberation to go with the Black Gloss Doors, Howdens this morning advised that the powers that be in their widsom had stopped doing doors/drawer fronts we wanted in Black Gloss 400mm. As we are only buying doors cannot easily avoid that. Though of doing a black/white gloss mix, but eventualy decided against that. Next plan of attack was all white gloss, still with the same worktops. Worktops obtained and now partially fitted. Spotted they do another Black, but not the same gloss finish, conundrums. I was relying on the gloss finish to reflect the light and not make too dark?? Carcasses are white, as is the wall tiling. Any thoughts folks?

  • Evening all - haven't been on properly for a while, been in and out of hospital but still pregnant thankfully!!!!! Although I do seem to have developed third trimester sickness which sucks. Anyway today I've took it really easy, but still appear to be shattered. Thankfully my stitches will be coming out in under 4 weeks so not long to go.

Sorry to hear what you are going through. A very worrying time but you are nearly there, I am sure you can make it and have a lovely wee bundle. Take care.
