Happy Birthday Kiwichick :j Hope its a good one (where are you btw:D ) oh and Happy belated wishes to Hester for yesterday
Been mad busy so not had much chance to post but have been keeping up with the reading where poss:D Miss me?........................nah didnt think so:rotfl:
Dublin was real good fun - my folks are late seventies but in truth are probably a lot healthier than meso we did lots of walking and early nights:rolleyes: :rotfl: made a change from my usual holiday. Guinness Storehouse was a great trip (thanks VickyA for the advice) and we did the open top bus trip which was hilarious thanks to the drivers who were soo knowlegable but also felt the need to sing to you on a regular basis too.
Kitchen is still an ongoing project - my flooring was due to be laid last week but they found a fault in it so had to take it back - should be redone today but as with everything now kitchen wise I am not holding my breath.
Came back from my weeks work in Swansea pretty late last night but ended up watching the 2 episodes of the jungle I had missed with my poor suffering neighbour/mate who had had to watch the footy:eek: Nice bottle of red wine - and a general gossip - perfectHow uncomfortable was Mark when he realised what he done to his girlfriend - hes got a lot of apologising to do.
Anyway best get on
have a great day all
hugs nels xxxxxxxx0 -
Hello everyone!
I'm kinda new here, as in I post on a few of the other boards a lot and only occasionally on here, but thought I'd join in as you all seem such a lovely bunch!
I'm not very OS by all of your standards, but think I am doing okay. I don't clean (that's bf and lodgers' domain), but I do all the shopping for the house and I cook everyone's dinner. I mealplan a lot, but that's about it OS.
I plan to get a lot better, esp when I give up work when I have a baby cos money will be tight, but that ain't happening for ages yet, as we've only just started trying for one, and bf has had flu for a week, so he's been a bit useless in that department. Can't get pregnant by myself! :rotfl:
Thought I'd comment on other posts as that seems to be the norm here:-
Twit - horrible about the cat. I convince myself that my cat doesn't know the way out of our garden, but my bf thinks I'm silly doing that.
Pipkin - don't know the full story about your mouse problem, but we thought we had one of them for a while as we found droppings (yuck) and cat kept coming up to us with various sizes of them. Couldn't use posion though because of her and doggie.
dlb - it really is amazing what you can get on ebay and it's great that you can get items like yours to list. Think I might start raiding skips round my way to see if I can find owt.
ellie2912 - Wilkinsons' deliver? Or am I barking up the completely wrong tree? Don't worry about bf calling his boss names. My bf went one better a few years and gave his boss a nice right hook when he was leaving!
Hopefully you won't find me too boring, and I'll try and join in and hopefully get more OS. Tonight, for me, dinner is a ham and cheese baguette as I am off to college for my bookeeping course. Yawn. Thought it would be interesting (yes, I am that sad), but the teacher is really bad, so finding it hard to get motivated. Hoping to get into bookkeeping closer to home once I do start having sprogs. Work full time in London at the mo and I do 3 hours a day of commuting! Can't wait till that is over!
Um, so that's it for me. Hopefully I can help people with my limited knowledge of OS things.

Nelski - We did the Dublin Bus Tour - its great when the driver sings "Molly Malone" and other irish ditties isnt it?!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: best one ive been on so far! plus the guinness aint bad?;)

Hi all. Bit late - well, very late - on here this morning; don't seem to have had a minute to spare until now.
PAM - thinking about you lots today, hope everything goes well.
POLYANNA - welcome to you and we won't find you boring - you sound like one of us!
WHATATWIT - poor cat but at least you did all you could and the owner is not left wondering what happened to her pet. It's always better to know.
CHARLIE'S MUM - £40 for a post card. That's brilliant! I have a huge bagful of postcards from early last century that my DH found at a tip. They were all between one family that were obviously well off because a lot of the cards are from abroad. If I can remember where we put them, I might list a few on eBay. I would never have thought of that.
TIRED MUM - 2 years! All schools have an anti-bullying policy; it sounds as if your DS's school is not working to theirs. It must be horrible for you. My DS1 was bullied briefly when he was about ten years old; MY DH went to the school and had a stern word with the children responsible (the school just didn't take it seriously) and it stopped. I think we were lucky though, because the kids were just egging each other on and it only took asking them how they would feel if they were being bullied, to put a stop to it. Good luck with your DS's situation and don't let it rest. School days shouldn't be blighted like that and the school should do a lot more.
I'm off to collect my DGS and DGD from school this afternoon; their Mum is a geography teacher and is on a field trip today so won't get back in time to collect them. They'll stay for dinner and then she'll pick them up. I'm going to look for some print-outs on the internet for them to colour in while I cook the dinner.
Well, I've managed to clean the house from top to bottom, got the sheets on the line - the rain which poured down all night actually stopped this morning but it's looking cloudy again now.
We have tarragon chicken, salad and chips for dinner; the chips are at the request of DGS who loves them.
Anyway, the football last night! I'm so glad they've sacked McLaren although first thing this morning he said he wouldn't be resigning! Cheek. Does no-one resign in this country any more? I think he made a mistake with the formation and having too many inexperienced players on the field. Although he had changed it by the second half, it was too late. It's going to be a very quiet Euro 2008 in this part of the world, isn't it? It was so nail-biting that I kept losing count of the stitches on my knitting needles!
Well, I suppose I had better clear my desk ready for the grandchildren - and hide some of my stationery supplies. The last time, they descended on it like locusts and I've had to buy some new things, which I'm determined to keep!
Hope everyone is having a good day, especially the poorly ones.
See you all later.

If you want to list them, send me a PM and I'll help you with descriptions etc. Depending on what they are, you could have some good ones, but foreign ones are more difficult to value. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
:hello: welcome Pollyanna you will love it here, and very soon be addicted xx0
