Thank you for the invite - I expect I'll be meeting the possibly future in-laws when I drop off DS and GF and I want to be back this side of the bridge before it gets dark. Plus, I'm afraid that if you met me for real. you wouldn't like me
You were pregnant with Squeak when I first joined the threadNine years! (And my house is still a tip
- I'm a terrible advert for flylady
)
Rxx
Haha!! I don't like anyone (including myself!), you'd be fine! Unless you kick my cat and remind me my house is a tip I'm good.. Though Dot would hug your skin off.. she is VERY touchy feely!
Well, the offer stands.. any time you flap over here.. I NEVER go anywhere so having someone to eat biscuits with make sme happy.. you don't even have to talk, I NEVER stop lol!!
I've been here.. about 15 years I think.. and my house is still a pit!
My 'urgent' hospital referral way back in May has amused me.. I have the appointment through for 8th October.. at a time I cannot do.. didn't want to go anyway! .. but.. I cannot change or cancel it because I don't have some mythical password.. !!!!!! is that about? why would you need a password to change an appointment? that is utterly ridiculous! Surely you have a hospital number so you can be located and appointments viewed and changed accordingly. OH's 'non-urgent' appointment he had in 7 days and is 4 weeks after he went to drs.. that makes loads of sense!
My eczema is getting really bad. My hayfever is glorious and AF just arrived so I gained 3lb in 2 days and feel like a train ran over me today.. joy!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
We've been on a mammoth walk, kids, DH and dog all stretched out in the living room. I'm enjoying the peace in the kitchen and am cooking a chicken dinner. DH goes away this evening with work for the week
I have also done some gardening at the front (only ten mins worth but it looks better), and paid the corporation tax. Also sent a froggy type text to MiL - needed to be done, and it's done now.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone xx0 -
Shop done, washing basket empty again, cat fed and cuddled lots. Kitchen floor mopped (getting ahead for tomorrow) DH did the garden, I have done some cooking for the week as well so feeling quite organised.
DH will do the ironing this evening, there is quite a lot!! I will make a fuss of my fur baby and read my book I think.
Hope you are all having a good day x0 -
Well I have pretty much walked the 10k, far too hot to run it all and took me a couple of hours to recover. Needless to say, I did not beat my personal best but at least I wasn't carted off in an ambulance as many were today. This is my last run, ever, as my joints can no longer take the strain.
Before the run, I s&sd the kitchen, downstairs loo and bathroom and emptied out all bins ready for collection tomorrow. Just about to start prepping tea.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well done, Jazee. I hope you aren't too sore tomorrow.
Kitchen sink given a proper going over, and the swampy tide on my desk has all been dealt with, so I'm now on to the filing.Better is good enough.0 -
Well done Jazee.
Thanks for lists.
Last week shot by, I started doing a long detailed post at one stage but decided you'd all find it too tedious so deleted it. Basically it said that
- MILs move went ok for the first 24hrs.
- Thursday night from 1am to 6.30am we spent in Stevenage hospital as care home had been concerned about a swollen ankle(??), they sent her home by 11am, fine.
- clearing her flat continues to take up much of our time.
- yesterday however was Mr N's birthday so we took the motorbike and visited friends in Suffolk, went the Munnings exhibition, were treated to a lovely meal and fizz staying over with our friends. Today we came back via another friend who is part way through chemotherapy and although she has been very ill, is now in good spirits.
I daren't even list what I need to do this week till I've had a cup of tea.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Well done Jazee
Supper eaten and clearing up done
Bins emptied
Cat fed again, one more feed left this evening, back to vet tomorrow.
Need to do a little bit of prep for work, would also like to paint my nails as they look awful at the moment. Might do that while DH does the ironing.
BC xx0 -
Well done Jazee.
5 loads of washing done and just about all dried outside before it rained. Not a lot but enough to be a nuisance to dry washing. The ironing pile is now definitely a mountain.
3 rows of potatoes harvested along with too many courgettes and a small pile of beans. I also managed to find a small bowl’s worth of tomatoes so I’m pleased with that.
Dinner cooked. DH decided to go to the local pub quiz so I have taken the opportunity to get on the laptop and at least start to look at finances. The necessary servers weren’t working for me to pay the bills that I wanted to so that will now have to be a job for tomorrow. Grrrrr.
Meal planning now needs to happen - preferential to tackling the ironing. I’m determined not to go shopping unnecessarily so it will be whatever comes off the allotment or out of the cupboards and freezer.0 -
Hi all
I have been very badly AWOL, hope you will have me back. Life has been manic, working 33 hours a week, studying for exams (which I need to get a move on with) and trying to keep on top of all the domestic stuff.
My spending has gone out of control so I am back to basics, mealplanning, making packed lunches, slow cooking and keeping a close eye on the finances. DS1 has moved out and is now living in at work, DS2 has now passed his driving test and goes to Uni next month.
So here I am, starting tomorrow with a bit of flying each day, being better organised and hopefully a bit less stressed!0 -
I'm in - thanks Valli :A Hope you've had a lovely day x
roundtuit - I'm not a good advert for Flylady either but, if we all had perfect houses, this thread wouldn't be needed and I need you all!!
pigpen - Squeak can't be 9 surely! Happy Birthday to her xx
Nice to see some familiar names returning
I am having to set myself a sort of timetable for the week to try and stop myself spending most of the day doing not a lot
However, I do have something to motivate me - I am getting a couple of guinea pigs as a late birthday present from Dad so need to get the front room and cage ready for them:j
I am aiming for one HHC each day to do a much of the list as possible plus at least 2 HHCs to spend on sorting, decluttering and generally finding the rest of my house!
So list ready for tomorrow:

Replace what lives there, wiping as you go
Clear and clean sink and accessories
Level 2
Wipe down all cupboard and drawer fronts, not forgetting handles

HHC decluttering"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers
