If you could live anywhere in the UK...

  • Shetland. I went there on holiday this year and thought it was amazing. Applied for a few jobs with the idea of moving, then realised how impractical it would be (the job was part-time & temp so wouldn't pay enough to rent anywhere). I still have plans to move, but need to sort a few problems and get my house ready to sell first. I can dream :-)

Argyle and Bute, right on the Clyde and amazing scenery to walk in while just over an hour from Glasgow. If I could find a way to make money remotely I'd be gone.

That would be like living in the Key section of a map where all the symbols are jammed together.;)

Lived all over the UK myself..from North east...Nortwest... East and West mids and currently in the South east.
The best was in Northwest... particularly the Liverpool / Wirral side.

Friendly people, affordable, close enough to city life and rural life. Whichever you want. Defo where I would move back to in a heartbeat. But with an expanding family and commitments down south...not for now at least.

Moved from Brum to Kingsbridge ( South Hams, Devon ) 12 years ago. Love it here.

Although a lot of holiday-makers arrive in Summer, it is a proper working town ( unlike Salcombe, which is dead out of season ) and a great community spirit.

Short drive to several beaches, and you can get out to the open sea via the estuary that comes into centre of town.

    Excellent schools also.

Yes, the location is very good.

According to Zoopla, the average house price paid in Kingsbridge is around £381k . Compare that to Bideford, with a similar sort of location at around £238k, and you see there's a North/South divide in Devon as well as in the country as a whole.

A brief bit of research shows it's still possible to buy a detached 3 bed in Kingsbridge, but it won't be as spacious and well-featured as one the same money will buy in North Devon.

Chester is a great place to live. Love the architecture, close to north wales and Liverpool and Manchester.
